Bitcoin lost 20% of its value in a month. It's great for speculation, but it seems like a shitty thing to use as a currency.

To be fair, "We're not selling your data" followed by "We're sharing data with our partners to be commercially viable" is some fantastic doublespeak

The restraint on Zelenskyy to not call him Krasnov to his face.

He didn't get 50% of the vote.

He won be cause either 6 million people didn't vote or, to quote Trump, "[Elon] knows those computers better than anybody. All those computers. Those vote-counting computers. And we ended up winning Pennsylvania like in a landslide."

The constitution doesn't have a contents page. It was written in the 18th century on a parchment.

The first thing in the constitution is the preamble, and the first word of the preamble is a pronoun.

Agreed. I'm not saying all are going against their own tenets, but it's the broad support from the group as a whole that's empowering these bigoted policies coming from the GOP.

It's because of the Christian support that the GOP is targeting abortion and lgbtq rights.

Not sure if you're joking, but "freedom of the press" is literally protected in the first amendment

It looks like each instance wants an instance-specific login, but my federated account is searchable, so I should be able to link it. Problem is, I can't figure out how.

Help me, programming.dev

Hey all, I made a Firefox extension (signed by Mozilla) specifically to add Show/Hide Child Comments functionality similar to how RES had it (where the parent comment is still visible).

It's not very useful, but I could use some feedback on tightening up the Javascript. I'm not a JS beginner, but I know I can do better, so any tips are welcome!

EDIT: Also, if anyone has any suggestions for the extension, I'm open to those as well.

Installed yesterday and immediately went ad-free. It's such a beautiful app.

Anyway, question is in the title.

I'm new myself but took the time to learn the platform. I'm not sure other people will have as much of an interest, so I'm just wondering if it would be a good idea for some of the old hat people to post some tips for people coming over from reddit.
