I've found that AI has done literally nothing to improve my life in any way and has really just caused endless frustrations. From the enshitification of journalism to ruining pretty much all tech support and customer service, what is the point of this shit?

I work on the Salesforce platform and now I have their dumbass account managers harassing my team to buy into their stupid AI customer service agents. Really, the only AI highlight that I have seen is the guy that made the tool to spam job applications to combat worthless AI job recruiters and HR tools.

I'm hearing alot about the structural flaws of First past the post voting these days. Glad to see more people talking about the topic. Let's start making plans to fix this once and for all so people are free to vote how they want.

I never had one as a kid so I'm very curious what other people's experiences were.

Does this mean that they can be used in any platform regardless on whether they are officially supported by the design language's creators?

Looking for the perspective of anyone that has lived anywhere in the USA and moved to Puerto Rico. What's it like, what's different, what's nicer, what was unexpected, and would you recommend the move?

Trump already said he’s all in on supporting Israel. To appease her Muslim voters, could she back out of her promises of supporting genocide?

Our family is planning to watch the election coverage together on Tuesday night. What do you recommend we watch? We'd like some good quality national coverage without getting bombarded by red politics. We don't have cable TV, so are limited to streaming services.

If you haven't read about it before, the term comes from the band Van Halen, who demanded that there were no brown M&M's backstage. People thought it was just a crazy rock star thing, but David Lee Roth later explained that it had a purpose:

Van Halen was the first band to take huge productions into tertiary, third-level markets. We’d pull up with nine 18-wheeler trucks, full of gear, where the standard was three trucks, max. And there were many, many technical errors—whether it was the girders couldn’t support the weight, or the flooring would sink in, or the doors weren’t big enough to move the gear through.

… So just as a little test, in the technical aspect of the rider, it would say, “Article 148: There will be 15 amperage voltage sockets at 20-foot spaces, evenly, providing 19 amperes … ” This kind of thing. And article number 126, in the middle of nowhere, was, “There will be no brown M&M’s in the backstage area, upon pain of forfeiture of the show, with full compensation.”

So, when I would walk backstage, if I saw a brown M&M in that bowl … well, line-check the entire production. Guaranteed you’re going to arrive at a technical error. They didn’t read the contract. Guaranteed you’d run into a problem. Sometimes it would threaten to just destroy the whole show. Something like, literally, life-threatening.

My Brown M&M atm is AI-generated comments like this (first comment is referencing something like df = ... that they removed from the code, but left the comment, second comment is super useless):

# Assuming df is your DataFrame

# Show the plot
plt.show()

That probably means whoever I got the code from just copy/pasted whatever the LLM spit out, and didn't actually think about the code at all.

What is a small detail that you pay attention to because it means there's bigger issues to watch out for?

When it comes to dealing with advertisements when they're surfing on their browsers. I've just learned recently about how Google has or is killing UBlock Origin on the Chrome browser as well as all Chromium based browsers too.

We've heard for years about people complaining, bitching, whining and vice versa about how they keep seeing ads. And those trying to help them, keep wasting time to tell these people that they're surfing without extensions. Whether it'd be on Chrome or Firefox or another browser.

By this point, I've long stopped being that helper because if you cared at all about the advertisements you see, you would've long had gotten on the wagon of getting adblockers by now. You bring this onto yourself.

With all the money going into the Ukraine war and other ventures since Putin came to power, I imagine there's a lot of stuff he could've done to make the world a better place and Russia a formidable world power.

My ears never pop or ever have in planes or going up or down hills in a car when other people's ears around me do.

I never feel ear pain or pressure during elevation or air/water pressure changes.

I've looked online for others like me but all I find are people who can't pop their ears and want to.

How is everyone else's ears popping and not mine? What does it feel like? Sometimes people say it feels good sometimes it hurts, I don't get it and when I tell my friends I don't experience ear popping I get looked at like somethings wrong with me.

Have my ears just evolved to release pressure without popping? (I know I'm stretching here but it would be fun)

I (21M) live in an Ohio household of hardcore Trumpers who, unfortunately, found out that I voted for Kamala Harris.

My father and brother are fascists. They believe in killing anyone who disagrees with Trumpism. My mother is not violent, but drank basically all the QAnon Kool-Aid and is batshit insane.

I am disabled. My cognitive ability suffers severely if I sit up or stand up for more than a few minutes. I also have another condition that requires me to avoid bending my neck, so I have to keep it straight. I also can't safely lift anything that's heavier than a few pounds, so anything more than that is very risky. I can push and pull fine.

I am also financially-dependent on my mother at the moment.

We moved to a new house recently, and the walls are very thin. That allowed me to overhear a private conversation between my father and brother.

My brother said that he hates Harris supporters so much that he wants a day of retribution where he goes on a violent rampage to kill everyone he knows who supports her, especially gay and transgender people. When my dad asked if that included me, he did not hesitate to say "Sure."

My brother is in peak physical condition. He owns guns and has military training. I had long suspected that he is the biggest potential threat to my life, but gaslighted myself into thinking I was overreacting. Today, he confirmed it.

My brother isn't the type to throw out threats of violence willy-nilly. He has also physically abused me in the past when we were younger and has major anger issues. I believe that I have to take this threat seriously, and that means that I need to evacuate ASAP. I think the most likely day for him to act is on election night or shortly after, which would give me just over a week. But then again, I can't be sure. Maybe he is planning a surprise.

My mother is too unreasonable to take any of this seriously.

I have a few thousand dollars and Democratic relatives from the South who might potentially take me in, though I don't know for sure if they will, since we're not close emotionally. I also don't know if my brother will go out of his way to target them once he notices my absence. He is going to an out-of-state Trump rally this week, so I know that he doesn't have much trouble crossing state lines.

I don't know where my birth certificate and social security card are, other than that my mother has them somewhere. My father is home the entire time and stays in one spot where he can see everything. Even if I knew where they were, there is no way for me to retrieve them without him noticing.

Fuck fascism. I was born to a family of vile abusive sociopaths. It was hell the whole time. I won't miss any of them. Fuck them. They are a disappointment to the rest of my family line. I spent my entire life learning how to become a decent human being in spite of it all and now the fuckers want me dead. FUCK. THEM.

The thing that separates me from the rest of my family is empathy. I refused to hate the people they wanted me to hate. Instead, I listened to their stories and befriended them. I care about everyone, not just straight white Christians. I voted for Harris because I wanted the best for everyone, which means preventing the installation of an authoritarian regime. And for that, I must pay the ultimate price.

I may never get to experience love or deep friendship, but no matter how this all ends, I vow to spend the rest of my days pouring out as much love and joy as I can out to every last ally I meet.

Any advice would be helpful. I don't want to wait, but I also can't do this without some kind of plan. I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing, so any input is appreciated.

Thank you.

How would the mainstream view it?

How would software support improve?

How would gaming look like?

Which country will become the first Linux majority? India? Seychelles?

How many local governments would start adopting it?

What year do you think it will happen in?

Idk if this makes sense.

Obviously not via sexual reproduction but could a person's genetic parents be of the same sex and that person be genetically indistinguishable from the rest of the population?
