Finish rewatching Dark, it start up good with season 1, season 2 is nice too, but season 3 really failed the landing with over convoluted twist which seems rushed just to tied everything together.

Huh, i'm surprised there's one sport that china suck so much they get outright humiliated on qualifier, considering they won so much gold on Olympic

Is it good employer strategy to pay my employees just enough so that they can't save money, so that they can never walk away from the job?

Yes! That's how an average slave labour company works, you hire someone, you make them work long hours so they couldn't have 2nd job or hobby, you pay them at the minimum wage, you lower their self worth and self esteem, and you put up all the barrier of quitting that's actually illegal but they don't dare to even test it. It's the best strategy to keep yourself afloat and them underwater.

Like, there is a threshold where if they are able to save X per month, they will eventually use that against you and quit at an inopportune time?

Yep, there's two way of employee retention, one is pay them good and treat them good they can't even go through the bothersome process of searching job, another one is pay them just barely enough and trap them physically and mentally, drilling the learned helplessness into their mind so it's impossible for them to even take the first step. Of course you'll want to take the latter option because it's the best slave labour strategy and maximise your own return!

And if that threshold falls below state mandated minimum wage, what steps can be taken to mitigate this?

You move to another state with lax law and force your employees to move, of course! And if that's not an option, there's always gonna be a pizza party on friday night.

Remember, the less money you pay for your employees, the more money you pocket yourself. Get yourself a Titanic tour ticket, you earn it!

The only spelling error I spotted is right at the end where you said Mask and not Musk.

It's a wordplay. I personally call him Melon Husk.

"the usual", because i don't know what hairstyle fit me and don't know what its called. I tend to ask what hairstyle fit me and then get the same haircut everytime.

Sorry if it's irrelevant, but carbrain fight for parking space is always entertaining 🤡

Note: just realised there's 2 ch202, this one is on a redraw timeline so the old one should be ignored.

Yesterday i finally whip up the courage to try commuting with bike, i planned the 40km round trip to visit my mom and go grocery shopping on the way back,, planned the route with as much residential street as possible, and that was a fun experience! While there's a lot of "woah, ebike"(where i live a proper ebike is rare, even though mine is converted) and "you travel from that small town? That's insane!" from stranger, what's not fun is the ride on some stretch of the road.

I live in a small town outside the city, a lot of the road going out of the town is pretty much 1 lane each way, no cycling facility for the whole country(Malaysia), the road shoulder is narrow to non-existent(the line is basically bordering between road and grass/dirt) if not filled with potholes/cracks/sketchy road maintenance/bump made by tree root, and motorist often driving very fast even on narrow road. Luckily more often than not they does give me a lot of space when they're passing(thanks to motorcycle culture), but those who don't is very discouraging for the whole experience, mostly it's the one riding moped that pass me too close for comfort with 30/50kmph faster than me(no thanks to motorcycle culture).

I planned to do it often, first by doing a no-car sunday, then slowly switch to commuting to work(also 40km round trip), and eventually cut down car use to only just a day or two a week or only on long distance travel, but this experience kinda made me second guess the whole plan. It's also quite tiring, i can still feel the fatigue today.

So how did you guys that do the commute able to keep going? Any advice on that end?

Note: for people unfamiliar, Malay is the ethnic majority of Malaysia. Bumiputera is a term used to describe Malay and the indigenous people of Malaysia, and a lot of government initiated program will have considered Bumiputera first, while ethnic minority like Chinese and Indian tend to get sidelined.

One example, government initiated matriculation will have quota system of 90% bumiputera while the 10% is shared among other ethnic minority.
