You must not have been born during LAN party era where everybody's PC was physicaly connected to each other.
That's why I think we should go with a petrol or a hybrid car. Mileage would be so good that it will tide over the gap until we figure out how to make batteries economically viable.

My longshot hypothesis: White people generally don't face the same hardships that marginalized groups face.. i.e. unable to realize presence of any glass ceiling of their fellow POC or women cohorts.
So their experience filters out candidate problems that require their immediate attention. POC or LGBT fight for their community of POC or LGBT people as they grow up facing the same problems.
White people probably don't have most of the people problems and thus turn towards Animal or Environmental welfare.
Let the rest of NA band together and start calling them pississippi and let their residents scratch their heads

Sure the margins might be razor thin but the market in NA is essentially untapped. (I am certain I am wrong here because silly Americans want big cars so there's actually no market. But let's assume we can somehow convince enough people to buy one...)
Even I, a non-industry outsider can see the great potential for a very modern petrol/EV hybrid and compact city car thats loaded with smart tech (still offline). Imagine all the cool stuff we can do with it like color themes and modern LED based lighting and good features like physical buttons and a bangin' sound system. Not to mention we can have top notch safety features and not sacrifice mileage since it will be a small car.
Try seeing if this helps: You start by doing the smallest part of the most boring part of the work that keeps putting you off. Sure you can do 1 bit every 10 mins or so. Make sure it's not the central focus of your mind when you're doing it.

On one hand, we should be solving this by increasing normal coach trains and having more regular services interconnecting states. Longhaul trains can be substituted with chained inter-state train tickets so that it reduces burden on scheduling of train routes and disburses the crowd on multiple routes.
On the other hand, it's not economically sustainable for the railways to cater to basic sleeper and seater tickets as those are heavily subsidized.
