It's basically just the south of France so kinda doable.
+1 for this, beautiful place
Hyrule from breath of the wild, ideally after beating the game
Tears of the Kingdom storyline has entered the chat
Stardew Valley. I'll run for mayor and finally kick that asshole out of office.
I’ll start a store to compete with both Joja Mart and Pierre!
Rapture from Bioshock when it was all shiny and new.
oh my god, Vvardenfell, absolutely. the volcanic island from Morrowind
I'm old and I still imagine being a Telvanni mage when I'm having trouble falling asleep
Don't forget to cast feather fall if you want a glass of water in the middle of night.
Aperture Science and Black Mesa Research Facility, they are both huge and filled with high tech.
Don’t forget cake!
The cake was a lie.
Pallet Town
Night City must be an equally terrible and stunning place to live.
There are classic ones like the Citadel (Mass Effect) or even Halo for the aesthetic beauty, but honestly I think I think it would be extremely serene to go to the cabin from Spirit City: Lofi Sessions. Each time I play that game I find an incredible desire to be in the cabin; my chest honestly tightens each time I think about being in such a relaxed, no-cares place with the perfect decor and perfect weather.
However, assuming this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, I would probably pick somewhere unrivaled in beauty or technology (gotta pick up some useful things if I can...). I don't think my desire for peace and tranquility can outgun the practical part of my brain
Anywhere in the No Man's Sky universe. Though starting off on a paradise planet would be especially good.
Stardew Valley would be calming and escapist. Skellige from The Witcher 3 would be beautiful, but I probably wouldn't live long there.
Does Kanto count?
If not... Howarts from the Harry Potter PS1 game...
If not... The locations of Toy Story PS1 game...
(As you can see I am rummaging through my childhood memories).
Hogwarts from the new game is a pretty great recreation too. Although, I'd rather live quietly in one of the side villages.
Planet 4546B from Subnautica. Such an amazing and beautiful world.
Meridian, Horizon Zero Dawn The Citadel, Mass Effect Rapture & Columbia, BioShock A large, fully built-up island, any Anno game
Bonus: Tamriel, Skyrim, but that's probably too large for the scope of the question
Another Bonus: Anywhere in No Man's Sky, as long as I have a spaceship
Plainsong - Horizon Forbidden West
Agrarian society built after the major extinction event and with no need or desire for capitalism? Yes please.
Martinaise
Old Nagrand in wow.
One time I was playing The Talos Principle in VR and I just took a minute to lay down under some trees
If I didn't have a sense of smell, I'd go to the Lands Between. "Breathtakingly beautiful" is pretty apt for it; because it looks amazing, but I'm sure with all the dead and gross shit everywhere, it probably stinks to high heaven.
Those rules make it easy. Fucking anywhere that isn't Earth. How about the halo 1 ring but no one let the flood out
Kamiki Village from Okami, seems like it would be a very chill and beautiful place most of the time. Great hiking, views, food and booze
The fictionalised Celeste Mountain in Celeste. Though it is a real location, the real place doesn't have dashing, abandoned cities, hotels and temples, feathers that allow you to fly, or anything else the game has.
So, I'd like to see things I ain't ready to see. That's kind of my life story.
I think the Resident Evil mansion would be worse without the creatures, because you would be constantly expecting them, even though you know they aren't there.
My anxiety couldn't handle it.
Lordran.
My ACNH island. I am told I am sorely missed when I go away, which instantly makes it a more desirable location than anywhere else I know of.
Something I haven’t seen mentioned: there were a lot of tracks in the original Need For Speed III: Hot Pursuit and its immediate sequels that looked like nice areas.
Well I guess that disqualifies Belle Epoque Paris from AC Unity.
Would love to visit the space station from Prey. On the condition the Typhon have been exterminated of course. It's such a beautiful map and I loved cleaning up my makeshift base of operations in the main lobby.
I'd love to visit the Akkala region and Tabantha Frontier regions from Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom.
Akkala because I love the almost desolate kind of vibe, seems like it'd be an ideal place to retire and just relax and enjoy the view. I also love the red trees. They remind me of red maples, which are my favourite trees.
Tabantha Frontier because it's home to the Rito (bird people) and has a colder climate. I also love how rocky it is!
The floating cities from atomic heart, man its the only thing that has made me cry, looking at what humanity could have been
- The golden forest/temple from Ghost of Tsushima.
- The courtroom from the first Ace Attorney games
- Night City from Cyberpunk
- Bone Cathedral from Code Vein
- Pretty much anything in Sky
night city, stardew valley or red dead 2
Hiigara. Our home.
Stardew Valley
Their country is at war though and it's not clear how much it affects people outside the valley.
Lara Crofts treasure dungeon.
She's never home, she keeps all her gold in a big pile (so she won't notice some is missing) and if the butler tries to stop me I'll just lock him in the freezer.
Garreg Mach Monastery baby!!!!!! Just seems really cool and the history would be fun to unravel with a very sleepy husband
Well, not my first pick for fictional places to go, but Mystic Ruins. Specifically Tails', workshop in hopes to meet him. I personally think his AoSTH and SatAM versions are the best, but would absolutely love to meet him regardless.
Old Sharlayan from FFXIV.
