I loved the art and voice acting, but the game was too buggy and for a roguelike it meant all progress would be gone because I got stuck behind a door. I hope the game is in a better state now, I dropped it out of frustration

Would you voluntarily hook yourself up to the Matrix?
I read it's a roguelike so it wouldn't really work
That is a very comprehensive and well articulated response. I enjoyed the game for what it was and I appreciate the response it got which set the foundation for the success of Elden Ring.
With that said, I still strongly believe that DMC5 got robbed that year for the attention it deserved. Personally, I believe DMC5 did everything Sekiro was doing better. From combat, characters to enemy and level design.
I got 30XX and it's been a blast so far. Probably gonna keep me busy for a while.
I appreciate the nuanced take. I personally can't tell what I would choose when push comes to shove. It's a difficult topic to digest because there's always lots of big IFs for each scenario.
However I think the definition of the word 'real' is obscuring a larger issue. Are feelings of a fictional character in a story real by your definition albeit only to themselves? Who or what is validating these experiences?
