JSON does lack comments. And numbers that are not 64 floats.

The series is of to a good start. It's rare to se blog posts doing simple i/o without resorting to some parsing framework or other. Learning about the SQLite file format is nice too.

I rather like the approach of taking a well known problem ie handling http requests. And solving it using a bunch of different ways. I read in a "ah this maps to that" kind of way.

Yes, defederate. Facebook/Meta have show time and time again that they are up to no good.

Oh wow I've written Perl since 92-93. But I don't think I've never seen nor user the r option. For grouped replacements like that I've tended to localise $_. Which is pretty much the only useful use of local I can think of.
