I swear people just scroll through lemmy, see a post they like and then think to themselves, "this is cool, I should post this on lemmy!"

That's quite terrifying. Especially being in the water with it.

What were you storing your stuff on?

The first reasonable sized consumer ssds I remember were the original ocz line. What was it like onyx or agility? And that wasnt until almost 2010 ish.

2002 seems suuuuper early.

Yeah I can do 10 hour drives also. My partner needs to use the restroom every 30 minutes. If they've had any amount of water, it's every 15 minutes.

There's nothing a user is going to be able to do if this is a problem with the backend. The person I replied to did specify backend, right?

Would they surface that to the user anyway? That's something to log, not to tell the client that xyz service failed because of error 123.

I found that naming my saves as what I want to do next helps me initiate a stopping point. Something like, "build gas power plant" or something.

How do you run unit tests for commits if you're only adding bits of the file?

[–] GarytheSnail 2 points 1 year ago

I have to ban myself from playing for a bit also. It's hard to play in moderation.

I use git commit --amend --no-edit often.

Like if I forget to run a formatter before I commit and the build complains just for that.

git add -u
git commit --amend --no-edit
git push -f
