nobara is great! I am on arch now, but for a plug-and-play gaming system it works great. It really feels like a fedora gaming "spin" and honestly I think fedora should try to upstream changes into that kind of distro.

Played about an hour so far, first impressions are that the game is pretty great. The movement and gameplay is much more modern and dynamic compared to JSR. I love the soundtrack, but you only start with a few songs so try to unlock more quick.

Price is a little steep at 40. But I love the dev team (Lethal League is amazing if you like fighting games) so I’m happy to support them.

I have only played an hour but this does really feel like a JSR successor.

TLDR:

  • Meisner effect caused by ferromagnetic impurities, wasn’t actually levitating, just parts of it were repelled by the magnet.
  • Extreme change in resistivity at 104.8 degrees C caused by internal copper sulfide molecules, which exhibit a phase change exactly at that temperature.
  • a team grew a single crystal version. It’s an insulator.

Nah I hate jira because it’s so damn slow to do any action

I’m okay with tickets, it’s the price we pay, but there is a serious lack of “in and out” with jira. As a dev, I want to spend as little time as possible in a software like jira.

I think that any service that is not “sponsored” by the restaurant should make it abundantly clear that is the case.

I don’t think it should be outright banned, but a distinction must be made to the end user.

Oh woah. This is a super cool project! Nice!

Oh for sure it would be way harder to implement. I need a portable ssh terminal and I hate no physical keys on my phone. This seems like a big step up.

This is sweet. I wonder if it would be possible to use a keypad from a blackberry key one. Those ones have a trackpad integrated

Headsup! Orders for first batch close tonight at midnight (CDT)

(4c) DIY kits are now open for orders on compression keyboards!

I have been designing and fine tuning the (4c) since late 2022, and am excited to share this product with the world. This first batch will be an extremely limited run.

Orders will be shipped out beginning in just 3 weeks from today 7/25/23.

Note: if you are purchasing the (4c) PCB kit, please check out our wiki for information on building a (4c) and uploading a custom layout! There is also a build guide video that takes you through all the soldering and assembly directions of the (4c) and its accompanying case.

With regards to cases, you can also purchase a 3D printed (4c) case from compression keyboards and they will ship out alongside the PCB kits. In addition, if you have your own 3D printer you can print your own case by heading to the wiki for files and more information.

The wiki with details on part selection, building, design files, and compiling firmware is here: https://compressionkeyboards.com/blogs/wiki

travel case has become magnetic, its almost the footprint of a phone. Magnetic wrist rest accessory anyone?

Thanks to everyone on the subreddit (now lemmy community!) that encouraged me to pursue making these real! I'm so happy to be giving back to the community and making these designs available to everyone on Github.
