One thing I could think of from Filipino culture is the manananggal (rough translation: one who removes). It's a sort of humanlike being, but with wings and a very long tongue. At night, its body from the waist up would fly away and leave its lower half behind, then it would hunt for food. It would go on top of pregnant womens' rooftops and using its long tongue it would feed on the fetus. Once the manananggal gets back to its lower half, the fetus would be gone forever.

In order to get the fetus back, you can prevent the manananggal from returning to its lower half by putting something on the lower half, if you find it (not sure if it was salt or garlic or something else).

One interesting thing that I'm not sure is quite related, but if you have a miscarriage, people say that 'nakunan ka' (rough translation: you were taken from / x was taken from you). Could be left over from the idea that the manananggal takes fetuses?

I remember finding a website once where you can create your own universe by clicking, dragging, etc and at some point it dies. I found it through Bored button. Hope to find it again.

Hmm seems like most people didn't get it.

hmm I didn't realize that it was sarcastic. Good that I saw this comment.

Once, I've had thoughts of doing that. Never actually did, but I was in a bad enough state to want to, just to make a message of how my pain isn't something I can just 'suck up because others have had worse'. Kind of to say that my mental health was deteriorating so much that I would be willing to.

rip to us girls who will never experience that without the risk of wetting other places 😭😭😭

IMO if you think it's immoral, don't do it. You'd be totally in the right to not bribe them.

If you do wish to bribe.. then idk... but I feel like bribing could potentially cause some legal trouble.

First of all, not all theists, in my experience, believe in the exact same things. Me, I don't think God would punish people for the 'slightest deviation from acceptable behaviour'.

Second of all, don't generalize. I'm aware that there are many self-proclaimed 'Christians' who oppress minorities, but not all. So please, no ad hominem :)

Am I not free for believing in him?

I just go to Google or use my own pics (photos or art or edits)

No. In fact, you're helping your instance. If people don't want to see your niche instance, they gotta get out of the All feed and go back to their Home.

Just don't follow any NSFW and people don't be bothered.

I use this account for normal user things, but I want to auto-post social media content in a community I'm in ([email protected]) which I own. (The content will probably just post 0-3 times a day).

Should my account be marked as a bot? Should I use a different account?

I just went in wefwef, updated it, and suddenly it said, "voyager is up to date!"

This community is on Lemmy.

It's an alternative to r/taylorswift, where people post news about her, or rumours and social media posts, as well as fan theories, reviews and discussions about anything related to TS. People can also post their experiences on tour or in any event related to her, and share merch pictures and their own creative stuff in honor to Taylor.

Swifties are welcome, and so are non-swifties (but there is zero tolerance for hate; not liking something is fine, but no hate).

By "worst", I mean most toxic, most misinformed, most discriminatory, etc (not related to the owners of the site, e.g. Elon throwing out the trash by adding ratelimits).

I recently got a new Sencor wireless headphones, but my issue with it is that the volume is weird. My phone is a Samsung Note 9.

Straight out of the box, the volume at the lowest level is loud. I would expect the volume to be enough to hear faint music and all background noises (like with wired headphones), but with my headphones, the volume seems to be moderate and I can't hear background noises clearly without having to fully mute my volume.

I tried disabling absolute volume in developer options, but while I was able to get the volume to act in a reasonable level, the headphone's local volume setting kept going to the minimum volume whenever my phone stopped playing any sound. It's quite annoying since I would have to adjust the headphone's local volume again and again. So it got rid of the first problem, but I ended up with a worse one.

I tried restarting and using safe mode, but neither worked.

Does anyone experience this too? Is there a permanent fix?

(Also as a side note, I posted this in reddit and got 0 replies; seems like the traffic's really going to the fediverse now. Well done!)

Honestly, nobody even looks at other people's Karma. I didn't care much about it. Did people really care so much baout Karma that they mourn about it here, or miss it, or used to farm it?

Sorry if the tone sounds judgemental, but I'm just wondering.
