I actually kinda love WYSIWYG because it’s pronounced “wizzy-wig” in some circles and that always makes me chuckle

Just to be “that guy” I wanted to say that an acronym is technically an initialism that you pronounce as a word, like SCUBA, LASER, or NASA. If it’s just letters that stand for something, it’s called an initialism. No one cares (not even me), but I had to say it :P

Most acronyms that have a W in them are pointless to say aloud in English. It’s almost always shorter to just say the words. Like WTF, for example. Those are my least favorite

Oh and YMMV. I used to work with car data and we would use YMMB to mean “year/make/model/body” and so I always start reading YMMV wrong and that bugs me

Blueberry Points in Scarlet/Violet Indigo Disk DLC. You do little subquests to get them and you need 12,000 to unlock all the starter Pokémon spawns. You can group up in a Union Circle and when anyone completes a quest, everyone gets the points

There’s so many Discworld books, you might as well read them. The ones I have read have all been fantastic. My first was Guards, Guards! as well and then I went on to read all the City Watch books and then the Death books. I wish I was still reading them, but I haven’t been doing much reading in years. The Wizards books were next on my list. I just love the humor mixed with refreshing social commentary. Especially considering the books are older, it makes me happy to know that even in decades past, there were still people who knew better. Pratchett gave me hope for humanity/society and made me laugh at the same time

It’s not all your fault and you don’t deserve to suffer. Just don’t forget that there are two sides to everything. This chance meeting between the two of you just didn’t work out, despite you both having the best intentions. It’s just bad luck. So keep moving forward and maybe the luck will come back to you later

Monster Hunter is a great example of a series with quality sequels. They always add some new, interesting mechanics, trim the fat from the previous iteration, and add new content while still keeping the core gameplay exactly the same. There have been some exceptions, but generally every MH game before they split the dev teams had been an improvement on the last. Even when they cut the swimming from 3U to 4. It was a system that most players didn’t enjoy, and 4 had so many great new additions like mounting that it hardly felt like anything was missing.

That said, one of the main criticisms you’ll hear from players is the “ultimate” edition being the same game with just some new hunts tacked on. Or even that the base version isn’t worth it and the ultimate version is the “real” game. Nowadays they do expansions instead, which I think players generally find more palatable

Yeah, it’s true. New years is a special time for a lot of lovers and she has never spent a new year without her partner in all of her adult life. The hugging thing was probably her just trying to get through a hard time, but after a couple days, I think she realized she couldn’t just magically swap OP in for her old partner, which is why she needed space. Then when OP started obsessing, she probably decided it was better to go their separate ways since she wasn’t ready. I’m making a lot of assumptions here, but I just think it was a bad time for her and sadly OP fell head over heels

ETA: I also think things could have gone differently (or even still could, let’s be real, these two met less than a week ago!) if OP was more respectful of her feelings too. Like “hey I miss you, haven’t heard from you in a while and I love what we have going on” is totally fine, but “why are you doing this to me” just shows a lack of empathy. OP asked her if she wanted him to go, and I’m not shocked she pushed him away, but maybe OP could say “I respect that you just got out of a very long relationship, so I’ll back off, but I like you a lot, so when and if you are ever ready to try again, hit me up.” I’m not saying he should just wait around for her to come back or anything, but it all happened so fast. No need to burn the acquaintanceship to the ground by getting obsessed

I know it probably hurts, but you need to put yourself in her shoes too. You said she is 23 and just got out of a NINE YEAR relationship 3-4 months ago. She was with that person since she was 14 years old! Almost half of her whole life. She was testing the waters with dating again and she probably did like you a bit but you were probably being too intense or clingy after just 4 days apart. I know you said you want to love very openly, and that’s not bad, but I just don’t think she was ready for something like that.

It’s sad, but you might need to just let it go. You knew her for a week, man, and I know what it’s like to love that hard, but it’s better for both of you if you move on. Focus on yourself and if love finds its way to you, then that’s great. But don’t obsess over someone you just met, even if it felt like perfect, true love

Granted, I haven’t played the original Dragon’s Dogma in like 10 years and I’m watching this on a small phone screen, but if you told me this was DD1 footage, I would believe you. I really don’t see the difference. That said, DD1 also looked awesome and I did enjoy it for the most part… I think it was just missing something to be truly great. I’m just not sure what that is. Back then, I thought it was multiplayer. As a huge Monster Hunter fan, DD felt like a great competitor or rival (despite both being from Capcom) and so I just thought multiplayer was a no-brainer. Now, though, I really appreciate single player experiences more and more, so I’m not sure that was really it. Maybe it was the Pawn system just didn’t do it for me or maybe it was that the quests didn’t flow.

Either way, I think I’m excited to give DD2 a try. The classes in DD1 were very cool, especially the advanced classes. Looking forward to see what this game has to offer

Huge fan here. Been to maybe 12 of their concerts including the”Neverender” shows where they play an entire album

SSTB, IKsSE:3, and GAv1 are considered the band’s “holy trinity” by most fans, but there is plenty to love on every album. As you go to the later albums, the lyrics get less edgy and the sound gets less lofi, but the magic is still there. Year of the Black Rainbow is probably the least-liked album, but even that has some bangers like Shattered Symphony and Here We Are Juggernaut. The problem with YotBR is the mix isn’t great. I think people would like it a lot more otherwise. Their newest two albums are the start of a “new” story that I think will be 4 albums. Window of the Waking Mind is a fantastic album but a bit of a deviation from the norm. There’s a lot more electronic and pop rock sound to it, and the title track is like some kind of musical number.

I could rant for hours about what I love and like about the band. They’ve been my most played artist on Spotify every year that they’ve done the “Wrapped” thing and they have maybe less than half a dozen songs that I don’t like.

If you’re looking for more, there’s a ton to get into relating to the Amory Wars including comics and games. I love the fact that there’s a big story, but I will also say that if you peer too closely, you’ll notice that it doesn’t all make a lot of sense, but that’s ok. They also have some side projects out there or bands that they work closely with that you might like as well if you want to get more into the artists. Prize Fighter Inferno, Weerd Science, and Davenport Cabinet are all side projects of some of the main members (there’s also Fire Deuce, but that’s… something else). You could also check out LS Dunes and 3 which have some involvement from the members. And I can’t mention related bands without plugging Thank You Scientist

If you just want stuff that sounds similar to Coheed but isnt too heavy, check out Circa Survive or Mandroid Echostar

It’s easy to get hung up on this stuff. I’m guilty of spending way too much time thinking about this kind of thing. There are so many potential nameless towns and villages that you can just make up your own without worrying too much. You can always make up your own kingdom or region without ever specifying or even mentioning what sphere, planet, plane, continent, or whatever you are on. With deities, they almost never matter unless a player is planning to lean heavily into it, and even then, you usually can skim some basic details about one or two gods and make stuff up from there.

If you read deeply into the history of the realms and their lore you will learn that it’s mostly independent nonsense. The pantheons and cosmology that the official setting uses has changed so many times that you can really just do whatever you want. There are literally worlds that are identical in every way except for a few things. They exist in the same place and time but are invisible to each other and just served as an excuse for the writers to say “it’s just like this other setting… but different.” The world your campaign takes place in can just be another one of those. A world based on the official Forgotten Realms, only in this world, the king is dead of the magic is delicious, or there’s no such thing as dragons, or gods don’t exist, or whatever.

Don’t let the existing lore stop you from telling the story you want to tell, because it never stopped any licensed content creator from doing whatever the fuck they wanted

Not sure what you mean, but it sounds like you just don’t care because it doesn’t affect your choice. I wonder how you will feel if one day your party’s candidate finally crosses your line
