I’ve given this a couple listens and it’s ok so far. Not an instant classic or anything, but it’s ok. I could see it growing on me over time. You can definitely tell this was cut from Vaxis 2 just by the instrumentation. I wonder if they finally cleared up some licensing issues with WB which is why we get an actual release of Deranged.

My main gripe with the song is the “I can be your joke tonight” motif. It’s just so similar to Toys and some of the other recent lines. Doesn’t really hit that hard and feels repetitive from a discography perspective more than just like the line is used too much in the song

Can’t believe it’s finally going to have a conclusion after all these years. I still maintain that there was no concrete story for NWFT and the lyrics support that in many places. Curious to see how it all goes down and if they mention “The Great Crash”

These words need an ending, as they did at the start…

Jesus, no it doesn’t. These media outlets want nothing more than to put the word “Pokémon” in their headlines to drive clicks. It’s as little like Pokémon as the game has always been

I would honestly recommend sports anime like Haikyuu or Prince of Tennis for this kind of thing. Sports anime always lean really hard into the mental game and you’ll have whole scenes playing out in freeze frame or slow-mo while characters painstakingly walk through their plans. I’m a sucker for that kind of thing

Me: “Is this Big O?”

It is.

I always loved the mystery that this show managed to capture when I was a kid. Especially catching an episode here or there on cable TV. It often meant missing key plot points or not understanding how everything fit together. Watched it through as an adult and I still really like it. I won’t spoil the ending, but it’s one of the most ridiculous things I’ve seen. Not that it’s over the top, but the absurdity of it is something I still reference to this day.

Also the phone ringing to tell you the name of the next episode is burned into my brain

Any time you notice something like that, a wizard did it

Nintendo just released these guidelines around running a “community” tournament. In other words, an unlicensed tournament. Limiting the player cap to 200 (300 for online), no profit allowed, entry fees must be under $15 USD, must use Nintendo online servers (no Slippi), and some other stuff.

Not sure which major tournaments from this last year had a license and which didn’t, but I remember the Smash World Tour fiasco and Panda’s implosion. I know Hbox said he’s going to try to keep running Coinbox until Nintendo themselves tells him to stop in writing, but I wonder how this will affect other big TOs. How many of them are still trying to sneak under the radar unlicensed?

Honestly, it’s BS how Nintendo treats their competitive communities
