Yeah I heard something like that too, but I never heard of any success.
Every time I see a post about Spore, I get sad I never played Dark Spore (despite owning it) before it got shut down.
Parents, man. Wish they'd be more concerned with dressing their kids appropriately for the season and less about the colors they wear because of perceived meaning behind those colors. Self expression and all that.

Many years ago I realized that I had mostly blue shirts for work and wanted to mix it up a bit. Went to the store, tried on everything I was buying, and came home with all blue shirts. Lol now I purposely buy at least a couple vibrant, non-blue shirts as my first picks every time I shop for clothing just to make sure there's some variation. Yes, it's still mostly blue.
To each their own. I get the need to have historical chat and all, and I run a Mattermost server for friends for the last few years and I depend on history there too. But on Signal it's really just what I use with work peeps for after hours non-Teams IT chat in case something breaks and they needs emergency help since we all basically mute notifications for Teams after work.
Correct, it will only have all future messages. Nothing historic. But it should sync literally everything going forward.

I think another part of it is that gaming as a kid and gaming as an adult are for entirely different purposes a lot of the time. I still game for entertainment, but also as a way to unwind. It's just relaxing to me and if I can get into a strongly written storyline, the stresses of my day fade away.
But as a kid, I gamed because gaming was flashy and fun and challenging, and then I wanted to talk to my friends about it after I beat yet another game.
