I didn't realise the meaning of emoticons could change. Now I'm thinking 'what if the cat image I put at the end of the text means something bad?' 😾

There is a tab with emoticons in the text input field of Lemmy's posts. At least in the mobile version of the site.

Hmm... Then wouldn't it be logical on the part of mobile OS developers to make the extended set of emoticons hidden by default and enabled through system settings? Or make an extended set of smileys as an app that can be installed through the app directory?

о_о The point of this sabreddit is to send each other kaomoji without meaningful text?

The day will come when people from other social networks will go to Lemmy to find something interesting.

Such an emoji can be sent to a customer when all deadlines have passed.

Wow, I didn't know that. You don't know the reason?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Nostalgia. I had a set of kaomoji stored in a text file.

What if you tried to express your emotional attitude to the person you are talking to? Or try to describe how you feel when you have had a good day.

I don't always do it well in text messages and then I use emoticons to reflect emotion.

I have a negative attitude to standard emoticons built into Android and iOS. They don’t look good, they’re too many.

I'm interested to know who uses emoticons depicting, for example, player rewind icons or rectangular shapes. Are there people who use these emoticons at least once a year?

Oh noo 😱

I think it's the same as trying to give a sailboat acceleration by trying to blow the sails while standing on deck.

Lemmy has many nearly abandoned instances. Over the entire period of its existence - several posts. Shouldn't the instance owner post content to attract users?

I buy inexpensive hard cheese from different manufacturers. Recently I began to notice that most types of such cheese have honey notes.

It seemed to me that the cheese contained honey, but this was not written on the label.

Is there something wrong with my taste or is this evidence of a violation of cheese making technology?

I tried opening the .md file in different text reading applications. However, the text display varied from one application to another.

Some apps display the hyphen normally, while others display a circle instead of the hyphen. Selecting text and navigating by title does not work everywhere.

But what's more outrageous is that paragraphs and indents don't work. The text just randomly blurs in different directions.

Why is there such chaos with displaying text in this format?

What ways do you know to attract users?

Perhaps there are those here who have been with Lemmy since its inception. It’s interesting to hear your experience in promoting your community or instance.

If you search YouTube for fresh music videos from jazz bands, you will find very few of them. Why?
