Lol the structure of my nic config isn't the best since all my custom config is in the configuration.nix. Also I haven't tried flakes yet but have been meaning to for a while.

Oh yeah sure. Also I used chezmoi before I used nix and I didn’t want to switch everything over to home manager. Also I haven’t shared my configuration.nix yet but I can do it right now.

One issue I'm thinking might happen if meta federates is that they will set up a sort of FOMO(fear of missing out) and make it possible for users of threads to talk in fediverse instances, but fediverse instances not able to talk to threads. I'm not sure if this is technically possible as per the activitypub protocol but just a thought I had.
