I’m not sure I understand. User would have to buy their own keys and set it up.

Or maybe enforce login with a hardware token like Yubikey or Nitrokey. I don’t think you could automate that(?)

Yea, but AI bots do it at an unprecedented scale. The price of generating bullshit is practically 0. There is already cheap AI content every where and people are already getting tired of it. It’s true that human actors has done something similar for a long time, but now AI will make the process so easy that AI junk will be everywhere. Look at Google search results, it’s already filled with blogspam generated by AI. Blogspam was a problem before, but now it’s insufferable. Cheap midjourney “art” is showing up in search results even when you search for real classic artist, you get these ugly AI copies. Generative AI is the ultimate bullshit and spam machine.

Yea, it will be a hard problem to solve. There’s no good solutions right now. Hopefully someone with the creativity and skill will come up with something.

That might work for now, but AI bots can easily create more content faster than human moderators can go through. We will need mechanisms to prove humanness.

How do we keep the bots out of Lemmy? Eventually all the AI rot will spread to the fediverse.

From Reddit:

“I bought an Umbrel.com home server hoping to have a dedicated device to run my favorite software on. I spent $500 and got an Umbrel.

Their "app store" is small, outdated (from an app update perspective), and filled with cryptocurrency junk. I should also mention that its difficult to use non-approved software, requiring your own GitHub repo with config files, docker setup, and a few other things. No one-click button to import software.

The hardware is half as good as a used 1L mini-PC that you can get on Amazon for $170, and itll give you more control.

The Umbrel has an HDMI port hidden inside, so if you want to use it you must cut a hole in the side for it. The only way to accees its interface is with a slow, buggy, and heavy web UI.

Don't buy an Umbrel, buy a $100 used 1L machine and save yourself a headache and $400.

EDIT: I asked for a refund and was denied since they don't offer them to anyone. Huge red flag!”

Not really. At least WhatsApp is End to end encrypted by default and Telegram is not. Use Signal instead.

I mean, this is just called censorship. We censor things for kids and all kind of people in or lives all the time. We censor things for ourselves when we don’t feel like reading the news or opening a text from a specific person. This is not some novel concept.

I’m not buying anything from Ubisoft. If people do that, they get exactly what they deserve.. a game from Ubisoft.

Are we forever stuck on 30 fps?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago

Kind of. It takes 10s of thousands of players to liberate a planet. And everybody gets rewarded when specific planets are liberated within a timeframe. Or punished if we fail. Last time we all got mechs. If we had lost the enemy would have gotten the mechs. So to win the wars a significant part of the player base has to focus on specific targets otherwise the enemy gets stronger and move closer to Super Earth.
