You mean Mulan?

Well, at least a soviet tank can be repaired with a hammer, unlike a deere

Which one? And why exactly?

Honestly, as an outsider, it seems like the majority of engagement from hexbear's side is extremely bad faith. Same vibes as twitter drama from couple years ago when twitter queers "cancelled" leftist and queer content creators and prominent figures for basically nothing. Like Contrapoints twitter drama. Or Lindsay Ellis twitter drama. Or second Contrapoints twitter drama, you get the point...

I'd say this is not an unpopular opinion. It was (and I believe still is) US govt position on these events. It's also wrong

IIRC he actually did twat some vaguely transphobic things soon after that.

I really hope it survives, only because I want to preserve and archive all of it's content. Sure, there's a lot of duplicate data and links to other places, but there's also a lot of unique things there. If it dies before it can be properly archived we would lose most of it, with only internet archive keeping some. That would be sad.

Well, the part where wizards are making a videogame and not a ttrpg is something we agree on. I just think it's not just c-suite people's ego that's on the line - the survival of the dnd branch kinda hinges on this game bringing new people in to replace their old fans. So they are incentivized to try their hardest to make something very polished and they seem to be trying.

I'm mostly basing this on info from Stephen Glicker from Roll for Combat who worked in the dev industry and is familiar with people in it. He said on stream that WotC hired a lot of very experinced (and expensive) additional developers, on top of their existing team. It would be very very dumb to spend all this money to release an unfinished product, considering that there isn't really any urgency. That said I can totally see those big wigs being this dumb.

I also am curious with how they intend to fit the whole AI DM thing into this. I agree with you that currently it can be unreliable and I doubt that it can be brought to expected quality. Personally, I think they would rather quietly abandon that idea and just make conventional videogame AI rather than risk releasing an inconsistent product. I guess we'll see.

I'm curious about political implications of these technologies. Current centralized internet is very compatible with both neoliberal governments and right-libertarian tech guys and corps who run it. A more decentralized internet would likely be both harder to control and to profit from.

It's possible, but I doubt that WotC would ever release it unpolished. They alienated a big part of their hardcore audience and don't seem very concerned about keeping anyone left. So it's safe to assume that they are banking on getting new players from their "VTT" videogame. And for that to happen they can't deliver something unfinished.

TBH, I kinda see the point of being so protective over the Red Cross. It's meant to be used to mark medics in a war, so not allowing it to be used frivolously removes any excuse from any party commiting war crimes.

Not that anyone cares about not commiting war crimes.

I can't understand the queer tankies. Like, do they believe that an explicitly authoritarian regime would suddenly have no need for a maginalized minority to target? Do they believe that they will somehow become the minorty group in power and will be able to target other groups? Or is just like lgbt cons who hope to be "One of the good ones"?
