Anyone saying anything but #7 is delulu. There's a reason Bic won pens

Given my personal preference for the Uniball Vision Needle (not pictured), I'll go for 1.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago (3 children)

None of those. I exclusively use Pentel Energels. Prior to that it was Uniball Signo. Up your own game OP.

I already mainly write with #1s

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

Probably 1 or 2 would be my style.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 weeks ago

3, it's the easiest to activate and handle

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

7, because they don't feel special. I never have to fret about my brain wanting to save them for special occasions.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

Can I just have a Parker IM Ballpoint? I hate plastic pens.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Uniball Signo 207

Writes easy and the ink is bold and dries fast. Comfortable enough for having to write 7 pages of client notes every night, even with my arthritic hands.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

This is the true answer. The 207/207+ ink is the greatest. The sharpie pens are close though, especially with the weight of the metal barrel.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

4, those pens are so smooth

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago (4 children)

I'm the only one going for #4? It's a uni ball vision elite, and I have about ten refills right now. Have had that barrel for the last fifteen or so years.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Such a great pen. The ink flows so smoothly!

I guess 3. Any of these pens would dry up as soon as I touch it. Graphgear 500 0.9mm drafting pencil for life.

The real question: Is that Pilot G7 a 0.10 or a 0.07? Very different pens. 0.7 ftw

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

I'm lamenting the fact that this scenario means I've lost all my fountain pens, but I'd go with #5 in a .38

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Number 6, I like how the ink flows

2 or 3.

I use to love G2's, but they fell off. I found a sharpie pen a while back and was shocked by how well it wrote, it's now my goto.

I have several boxes of Uniball Eco. The ink dries fast enough lefties can write without smearing. Also it looks sleek and professional.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

1 looks the most balanced to pen spin with the least egregious lapel.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)
  1. Fisher space pen

I keep one at my desk and have one in my pocket (most of the time).

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I've had the bullet version on me at all times for the last decade or so. Fits in my coin pocket of my jeans perfectly.

If 6 is the Papermate felt tip, then that one. I like the static tip. Otherwise, probably 3, the upstart Sharpie.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

I've written on Cross since middle school (1980s)..

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Probably 2, 6, or 7. I've always loved the V5/V7, but the liquid ink is messy, a bic is a classic for a reason, and the PaperMate flair has been my go-to felt-tip for a long time now. Though, the ultra-fine version is much better for writing than the medium one.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

When I was a server, I only used Number 3, but it has to be the 0.5 size. 0.7 still smears too much.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

7 because I like to eat my pen covers (please tell me I'm not alone in this).

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

I once bought a pack of maybe 40 number 7 in all 4 colors, I am basically committed for life.

But these fuckers dry out if you don't use them for a long time, I had to throw away a bunch. I tried receiving some by soaking them in Isopropyl alcohol, it worked for some but not all.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)
  1. I very specifically use these. They're pretty similar to the Pilot pens though.
[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I don't know the difference between 1 and 2, so I'm going to go with 2. 7 in some instances though. Never 6. Fuck 6.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

No fountain pens?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Pilot G-Knock 1.0. G2 barring that.
