Seems like corporate FUD but still important if corporate FUD is being used.

Oh please no. I'm not going to buy an overpriced console just to play their future games.

You could always sail the high seas

[–] [email protected] 15 points 2 weeks ago

The high seas for a PlayStation 6 exclusive release? First, might be a while before piracy on a new console is a viable option, second, an emulator won't be able to run it for years.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

You won't be able to pirate the PS6. Not unless technology gets really fucking gnarly by the time it releases so you can download hardware. You'd have to rely on real theft.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Can't really pirate a game on PC if it's never released on PC.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Not true. Plenty of Switch exclusives emulate super well on PC.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

There's a massive difference between a Switch and a Playstation. We're nowhere near emulation of a PS5, and knowing Sony they would have FromSoftware make a launch title for the PS6.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

It's going to be many many years before we see a PS6 emulator. We're only just starting to get Bloodborne (PS4) working on PC now

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh boy do I gotta tell you about something crazy...

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Is it how there still isn't a good enough PS4 emulator on PC to play Bloodborne at 60 fps?

[–] [email protected] 18 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

FUD means "Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt." I'm not following how you think that's what's happening here? I mean, I think you're accusing the Kodokawa execs of bullshitting, but what they're expressing is the opposite of FUD.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Oh man, people really just repeat phrases without actually understanding what they mean. It's very fucking annoying. I've also seen people refer to literally anything they don't think is funny as boomer humor, even if it's like a Gen Z meme.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I also hate that phrase. It encourages you to blindly follow instead of wisly questioning

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

Oh, yeah, it's use in the crypto space is absolutely part of cult conditioning. Any reality check, any sensible question, any appeal to reason, it's all FUD. Only blind unquestioning faith in the rapture... I mean TO THE MOON... is acceptable.

The article is from eurogamer so you have to temper your expectations of the literacy of the readership.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Huh? The hell are you talking about? The article doesn't mention FUD once....OP said that...

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Given the upvote I'm guessing the two of you are part of the aforementioned eurogamer readership...

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You okay man? I think you should see a neurologist. You don't seem coherent.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Thank you so much for your concern and apologies in advance. Im well aware I need to work on dumbing down my writing to be accessible to everyone. Sorry for my ableism, I promise to work on myself to be more inclusive. Again, apologies if I made your head hurt, that was not at all my intention. I hope you have a splendid weekend.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Damn dude. Do you work for the circus? I think you could be the lead clown. You'd thrive in that job.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Thank you, appreciate your compliment, It's a pleasure to be a source of entertainment. I used to train chimps, perhaps that's where my talent to amuse primates derives from. Always nice to feel appreciated, thanks stranger.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Np man. You might want to also consider joining the chimps. I'm sure you would be fed well and someone might actually be able to train you to make hand signals and shit. I think you could really benefit.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago

Well, this is disappointing, is this the best you can muster? A "no u"? I guess you're part of the Eurogamer readership after all. Don't forget to take your meds. Have a great weekend, Bobo.

Better title: Kadokawa employees are reportedly "optimistic" about the takeover. Subtitle: Kadokawa owns FromSoftware

Kadokawa suffered a ransomware cyberattack earlier this year, but employees were left disappointed by the response from current president and CEO Takeshi Natsuno.

As a result, employees are said to be "thrilled at the prospect of an acquisition by Sony", according to a new report from Japanese outlet Bunshun (via Automaton).

HAAHAHAHA, Oh The Onion, you guys are... It's not The Onion... (for anyone that doesn't get it, PSN has been hacked a couple of times)

Anyway, the "thrill" comes from the expectation that the current Kadokawa leadership will get the boot from the acquisition.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 weeks ago

Sony wants a monopoly on the anime. From software is just a bonus

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

They buy it, make Bloodborne 2 and make it a PS exclusive, then disolve the company entirely as a giant "fuck you" to PC players.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

you jest but this is honestly what is likely going to happen.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

I'm not jesting, I know they will do it. Bloodborne is a literal goldmine. They could've ported to PC and swam in money. By now it's probably too late to do that, most of the hype went away. But a Bloodborne 2? Yah.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago

site blocked for work, but are they actually thrilled or "fucking thrilled"? haha

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

I would imagine, shitheads at a huge company excited they can hoard even more money?
Sounds about right.
Is also like how nobody ever mentions anything but from software.

Like this isn't a gigantic conglomerate basically owning the Japanese anime industry.
