My friends and I started a multiplayer game with a full party (4 people) and we took a few NPCs clothes to wear for ourself.

However, we can't figure out how to put normal clothes back on the NPCs because we can't actually add them to our party. Even if one of us disconnects from the session, there's not an extra party slot.

Now several of the NPC party members are just naked at the campsite. How do we give them clothes again?

So sorry, can't help. But I love everything about this problem :D

Unfortunately, I don't think you can. You can’t remove custom characters from your party, and you can't manage companions' inventory unless they are in the party.

Wait, you can't remove PCs from your party in a multiplayer session? Whoever you invite at any point, you're stuck with for the duration? Fuuuu...

Yup. Buddy had to restart his game cause we thought you could remove them. Only an hour or two in, but still. Annoying.

Thats the dumbest shit I've ever heard. They need to fix that. Imagine losing 50 hours of progress.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Fuck. I certainly hope that's fixed in the very next patch. How did that pass QC?!

It makes me feel kind of skeezy to be honest, we fully intended to give them at least some Destitute Clothes after the Nautaloid, not to have stripped away their dignity forever, lol.

This is the way.

Why would you want to do that? My camp is a clothing free zone. It's too bad I can't make Volo and Withers follow my camp rules...

You could try this mod. It allows you to add more characters to your party.

I haven't played mutiplayer, but if you had only 3 people in your group, what happens if you talk to one of the NPC and ask them to join you? Do they say you are full?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

If only 3 people have joined the game then no, but with 4 people it says we're full even if one of us logs out.

When someone is offline they don't leave the party but you can control their character.

Haha I love this. Are you guys playing origin characters or custom characters?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

3 of us are custom and one of us is doing a Dark Urge playthrough!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

How do you all handle the D.urge? I'm playing as one right now in a game with my cousin and I'm worried he won't have a good time. While he found it funny, we had to reload after we, ahem, "missed out" on recruiting Gale, for example.

I'm still angry I failed the strength save. I'm like 50 hours in and still haven't found him supposedly there's an area in act 2 where you can find him.

We haven't gotten very far in, and the person playing the Dark Urge has enabled private cutscenes for spoiler reasons, so I honestly am not sure yet. So far, nothing has been affected that I can tell from my normal single player campaign.
