That’s definitely a bug, just not an insect
Technically not a ‘bug’ but ok.
I could see it both ways. Crustaceans are arthropods and this resembles a true bug about as much as a spider does, but I’ll give you that crustaceans are probably not top on people’s list of “looks like a bug.”
I lean towards using it for most kinds of “small invertebrate pest,” because those are the factors about bugs that I care about. Even a tiny, annoying hummingbird would only seem like a bug to me until I looked at it, but something with chitin almost always feels like it counts
Am I missing the point by saying that's not a potato bug? Not even sure it's a pillbug, but maybe is. Looks like a sowbug.
That there's your standard issue roly-poly.
Also called a pillbug. Okay, I'll defer to you - maybe sowbug lol a little flatter.
We call them slaters, or slater beetles in Aus
It is a pill though.
Pops one
makes you taste colors
That's definitely a bug. Bug isn't a taxonomic term.
I believe it is. A bug is a range of insects with piercing mouthparts. Like sap-sucking guys, or assassin bugs. I don’t think mosquitoes count though. I could be wrong.
Bug is a taxonomic term? Fucking taxonomists. Taxonomy is a garbage pseudoscience that takes our living natural language and turns it into a dead, useless thing like their pinned up butterflies.
"You know what, fuck you, taxonomy."
Un-deads your butterflies
Not exactly taxonomy but kinda.
I think I saw another post where it's good at heavy metal spoil extraction.
Is it the same type of creature?
Yep!
Land Crustacean
It's an isopod!
We should call them prawntatoes instead
