This post is 2 years old, but I just wanted to point out how funny it is to call lemmy users lemmings.

That's a good point lol, I haven't done a js interview yet but it'd probably be kinda rough trying to remember random shit like this.

I try to find cross platform options for any software. I moved from Android to iOS a few years ago and always think I may move back so it's nice to keep options open. That being said though, the apple ecosystem works so well with everything within it I sometimes double pay for services just to also have the convenience that comes with the ecosystem.

Idk if you're joking or not but I'm pretty sure some person posted a fediverse version of a dating app yesterday somewhere lol.

I wouldn't hold my breath for that one to take off though.

Yeah, got YouTube music after they shut down Google play music. All my friends dog on me for not having Spotify but not having ads on iOS is so nice. I tried it once without youtube premium subscription and idk how people can sit through advertisment hell for every video.

Also having the creators I watch get a larger share of the YouTube money pie cause I watch them as a YouTube premium sub is a nice feeling too.

That being said though, I'm on a family plan and not this specific plan that got its price raised (although I'm pretty sure the family plan prices have also gone up recently if I remember right).

I had the same question opening this thread so I googled it.

the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as race, class, and gender as they apply to a given individual or group, regarded as creating overlapping and interdependent systems of discrimination or disadvantage.

I like the exports that Day One does if you've ever used that journaling app before (they do multiple kinds of exports). JSON, for if I need to write a script to import the data somewhere else. TXT for something nice and human readable. CSV for whoever wants to use this format lol. They also got a pdf printout just to make things look pretty. As for imports, I think they have import options for their competitor's export options, but I've only used this once and I don't remember the option I used.

But if it came down to just one, I'd say JSON is the most important for me. The other ones are just nice to have but not critical.

And np, I didn't want you thinking everyone thought it was too expensive.

Is there an import/export backup feature of the data? One of the biggest hold backs for me when installing an app that'll take me some time to set up is the fear I might have to restart if it gets abandoned.

Also, $8 one time payment is totally fine in my opinion. It's a one time payment and probably a useful app.

Bury them in the desert

To add onto this, has anyone found a good way to combine the metadata back into the photos from Google takeout? I've found two solutions on Google, one was send it off to some company and pay them to do it and the other has me run some pre compiled exe file.

I'm starting to think I'll just have to live without the metadata or write my own solution.

Are the customers forced to pay for tracking? Does Etsy have a rule against sellers paying for the tracking? I've never used Etsy before so I'm not sure exactly how it works.

I'd feel more comfortable having a tracking number on any package I order.

I’ve read little to no ubuntu documentation (aside from stuff like installation and very basic troubleshooting). Have you noticed any improvement to it? I think this post is 2 years old so I’d assume there’d be at least a bit of little change.

Hopefully I'm posting this in the right place. I'm planning on using immich for selfhosted photo storage. I'm a bit worried that I may lose all my photos if my drive fails, so I'm planning on running two hdd's in raid 1 in addition to my nvme that I'm running my OS on.

I couldn't find this when I googled it, but is it possible to point immich to store data on a separate internal drive other than the one that the OS is running on?
