I'm going to hold my nose and vote for Kamala but I won't shame people who can't bring themselves to do it.

Doesn't seem like a flubbed line. "Humanoids" wouldn't make sense anyway because the Sensorites are humanoid. Maybe this is the aftereffects of the forced regeneration after the Doctor left the Division. 😆

MAITLAND: Doctor, is there no way you can get into your ship?

DOCTOR: No, not unless they return what they stole from my ship.

RICHMOND: But will they'll never give it back to you!

DOCTOR: Oh my dear, they're not invincible, no-no-no. Did any of you notice the peculiarity in their eyes?

MAITLAND: No I can't say I did.

DOCTOR: It's a fallacy of course that cats can see in the dark, they can't; but they can see better than we humans because the iris of their eyes dilates at night. Yes...huh! Haha!

Just finished The Mutants aka The Daleks (Hartnell) last night. I'd call it epic. Foundational. Enjoyed every minute.

The Blu Ray player is literally the only reason I use my PS5.

The greatest lie ever told is "pull here to open".

I sent her a few bucks when Biden dropped out and a few more when she picked Walz. If she said the words "embargo" or "war profiteering", though, I'd send her a whole damn pile of money. Won't hold my breath.

Thanks but no thanks. I've been clean since Legion packed it in.

Nosepickers and ass scratchers must have an evolutionary advantage.

Oh sorry I meant law enforcement. Not sure what my dumb ass was trying to abbreviate there.

I've really come to appreciate the second half of series 7 (late Matt Smith) through the end of series 8 (early Capaldi). Bit more hit and miss for me after that but what a run.

I know this will sound paranoid as fuck, but I've really been thinking about Microsoft lately. Like, they're pushing their Recall shit whether we like it or not. The fact that it even made it past the concept stage tells me that no one at Microsoft gives a single fuck about their users anymore. The final shreds of any trust I had in them as a company are gone and I've started thinking of them as an adversary.

Today I was considering Teams in particular. My company has been using it for maybe six years. When our email provider went teats up, I did some research and realized we had Microsoft cloud stuff included in our Action Pack subscription. We started using their email, and about the same time we started using Teams.

Teams offers EEE but only on Teams Premium, which we don't pay extra for. Microsoft has access to every message and chat. They could be saving transcripts and voice calls. They might have accumulated billions of hours of voice data by now.

What could they do with all this data?

  1. Sell to LEO
  2. Commit corporate espionage
  3. Gather government secrets
  4. Use for AI training

Something else just occurred to me. I did research a while back on the software stacks that big tech companies use. Not one uses IIS.

I've been a Windows developer for thirty years. I used to like Microsoft. I looked forward to new versions of Windows and Visual Studio. Now I feel like they've lured us all in slowly until we put our throats in their jaws. Fucking mental.

Talk me down, if you can.

Greg Austin is a fantastic actor but when I see those eyes it's reeeally hard not to see Travis Leich. 😬

Edit: Btw Class is fantastic. I'd have watched it back then had I known about it. I mean, I'd vaguely heard about another spinoff but I didn't know the particulars. Look man, I'm not on trial here. The real crime was cancelling this show.

Edit: Many thanks to @[email protected] for suggesting that I hold all three buttons down. That appears to have worked! 🙏

Pixel 6 Pro. Yes, I did a factory reset after patching. No, I wasn't aware there was an issue. Yes, I understand there's no fix for this.

My question is, how do I turn off the phone once it is in this state? I've tried holding power alone, power + volume up, and power + volume down for varying periods of time up to 30 seconds each. I've tried in the recovery menu and at the error screen. I've tried catching it during the restart. Can someone help me please?

Following initial investigation in July, three more women come forward, including one who signed NDA following her experience with author

Edit: Not sure why the link abstract says two. The article clearly says three.

I have a UPS Ground prepaid label to return the cell phone that I'm trading. They told me it would be $10-12 to schedule a driver pickup, else I can take it to a dropoff location. When did this start? Boo, UPS. Boooooo.

Edit: To be completely fair, it may be that the destination decided not to pay extra for driver pickups rather than this being some new UPS thing. I don't know the inner workings.

Would anyone happen to have a source on who portrayed the young Lady Eddison in The Unicorn and the Wasp? I've checked IMDb, Wikipedia, fandom, Shannon Sullivan, and a few sites I wasn't previously familiar with. Fandom had the names of some of the uncredited cast (footmen, kitchen staff, etc.) but I couldn't find anything about young Lady Eddison. Thanks!

"If you don't save your data to someone else's computer then we can't monetize it."

I know they're not explicitly selling SkyDrive or OneDrive or whatever it's called now, but they kinda are.

What's funny is, this file is stored in an encrypted container that does live in the cloud. 😄

Edit: Thanks to user @[email protected] I now know about F12 in Office applications to bring up the "classic" Save As... dialog. Today I learned!

The ADA just settled an explosive legal case accusing the organization of betraying people with diabetes

I never went as far as to defend Gwyneth Paltrow, but after her Hot Ones appearance I created a post (which I will link in the comments) where I suggested that she's done no more harm than male grifters and that the dislike of her as a person was primarily due to misogyny. That's before I learned about her promotion of these unproven "vampire facials". Now an unlicensed clinic performing this procedure has given at least three women HIV. You guys were right and I was wrong.
