Yeah, sometimes it's more trouble than it's worth. The girls keep transpiling my perfectly fine Javascript code to Rust >:(

They do also hook your brain up to the girl-matrix, allowing you to tap into the shared brainpower of all other thigh-high wearers for your programming. But that's common knowledge, so I didn't feel like I had to mention it

To be fair though, thigh highs are really nice to calm down restless leg, so sometimes they actually are pretty good for programming

smh, could have used the short form ()=>{ instead of function 😤

Okay, und wie soll man eine Überweisung bekommen ohne zum Arzt zu gehen? Bei meinem Hausarzt bedeutet Überweisung direkt Termin, er will die Zeit ja auch mit der KK abrechnen 🤷

Haha, I'm not sure yet! It just made sense that they were there, somehow

Yeah, [Not OC] seems fine as a tag for that case ^^

There are some Lemmy clients where you can block specific keywords, communities and instances.

What can you do to mitigate that fear? You obviously know there's some irrationality to it, but that doesn't mean that it would be invalid to try and dampen some of those concerns ^^

How about getting a little fire extinguisher for your kitchen? I'm confident with cooking, but I still always have one on hand just in case!

You can also try and experiment with what exactly your boundaries are. Are you comfortable making something like a soup/stew? Does it bother you to bake something? That might be more than enough for the start, and once you get comfortable with that you might even naturally want to level up to scarier stuff.

When it comes to fears, the only way to lose is not to try. Because every instance of avoiding something you're afraid of reinforces that fear by making you think that you successfully avoided a scary situation. Even if absolutely nothing would have happened otherwise.

Good luck!

25 / F / Germany

I feel like there's a really good amount of Europeans around, but I might just imagine that because I browse new at the times when Europeans would be awake haha

He is really into Lego Rock Raiders so I wanted to make something that kinda references it, but is still subtle enough to wear to work :D

This was my first time steam blocking Acrylic Yarn, it makes such a difference!!! The finished scarf got super soft and flowy, none of that creaky stiff crochet feeling left haha

It's been getting colder around here, so I'm not super comfortable with letting Revy roam around on the cold floor anymore. Instead, I let her hang out on my plant shelf yesterday while spot-cleaning. Because of the grow-lights, the floors of the shelves get up to 40°C in the center - which is very much on the upper end of acceptable basking surface temps, but I'm okay with allowing it for 10-20mins.

And man does she seem into it! She curled up in a cozy spot after exploring the shelf, and when I put her on her perch to go back into her enclosure, she instead scooted right back to the plant shelf instead. I had to actually put her back straight into her enclosure after that, which I don't enjoy doing because it does take away agency, but I had places to be and couldn't leave her on the shelf unsupervised 🥲

In the evening, she was very adamant about being let out, and when I did she crawled right back to the plant shelf and from there to the floor. I kept putting her on her "go back home" perch and she kept insisting on going to the shelf instead, so again I had to put her back straight into the enclosure when I needed to head to sleep.. Revy spent the rest of the night sulking in front of the door lol

It's pretty good so far! A bit fiddly to get something like my go-to brushes from the PC version set up, but overall the port is very faithful to the original :D

My first propping season! (programming.dev)

I've been great at killing every plant I own within a few months. So guess my surprise when the golden Pothos I bought in March actually survived long enough to be propped and repotted!!!

I also bought a small (but very overgrown) Marble Queen Pothos a few weeks ago that has been doing okay! Not much growth, but also not dying yet! whoop whoop!

...aaand I may or may not have impulse bought a Large Form Monstera Deliciosa Cutting yesterday. Let's see how that goes lol
