There's been a lot of construction around the country, I wonder how other cities are faring. They're even talking about changing some of these buildings to residential through urban planning. Is this the start of the bubble popping?

I thought the dude dropped out which is why I didn't post this originally. Slimy all around.

A separate letter obtained by The New Yorker, which was e-mailed by a different staffer on November, 2015, to Pak, Hegseth’s successor, expresses the upset that Hegseth’s behavior caused. “The organization is owed the truth,” the staffer wrote before he described two incidents that, he said, “change my perception of Mr. Pete Hegseth,” especially “as the face of C.V.A.” He went on to recount what took place in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. On May 29, 2015, the staffer said, Hegseth and someone travelling with the group’s Defend Freedom Tour closed down the bar at the Sheraton Suites Hotel. The duo yelled “Kill All Muslims” multiple times, in what the staffer described as “a drunk and a violent manner.” Hegseth’s “despicable behavior,” he wrote, “embarrassed the entire organization.” He went on, “I personally was ashamed and . . . others were as well.” The staffer’s letter cited a second incident in which, he wrote, Hegseth “passed out” in the back of a party bus, then urinated in front of a hotel where C.V.A.’s team was staying. “I tell you this because it’s the truth,” the letter concluded. “And I sincerely care about the mission of C.VA and the future of my kids and the country.”

Reached for comment, the author of the letter said, “If you print that, I will deny I wrote it.” When he was reminded that it had been sent from the same personal e-mail account that he still uses, he said, “I don’t care. I’ll just say it never happened.”

I don't think this was malicious, but this tweet (not the answer) was up 6 days ago. Repeats aren't bad, but that's a little soon and I'm going to pull it. https://sh.itjust.works/post/28697320?scrollToComments=true

There is a lot of weed, but that's usually in the alley or kind of hidden. I'm not sure if it's the oil paint or the turpentine or what. Good guess though.

“You do not have to answer the citizenship question if you don’t want to. Your answer will not affect your care — you will not be turned away,” the flyer states. “You have a right to life-saving care, regardless of citizenship or immigration status.”

Conditions

More than two-thirds of prisoners at Red Onion are held in solitary confinement, or "segregation". They are confined to their cells 23 hours per day in 8’ x 10’ cells with 6” x 24” windows for light. Length of confinement ranges from two weeks to fourteen years.[15][16] Food and medicine are served through trays in the cell door.[17]

Opportunities for education and work are more limited than in most prisons due to the higher security level; however, Red Onion offers janitorial work, a GED program, and a literacy program.[16] The prison uses a video education system which allows the playing of prerecorded video files over 5" CCTV screens.[16][17][18]

The facility was designed to minimize contact between corrections officers and prisoners as well as among prisoners.

What brought you to Lemmy and are you on other social media platforms?

He's catholic, so he can't hurt anyone but in self defense, even if he's legally able to do so. The other side of the tracks have many, many people lined up to die.

For the third consecutive quarter, Starbucks’ same-store sales fell. This quarter’s 7% decline in same-store sales was the company’s steepest drop since the Covid-19 pandemic.

The company blamed its soft sales on weaker demand in North America. In its home market, its same-store sales decreased 6%. Traffic tumbled 10%, despite increased investments in the business, such as more frequent promotions in its mobile app and an expanded range of product offerings.

In China, its second-largest market, same-store sales plummeted 14%. The company attributed the decline to competition in the country, which it said is altering consumer behavior and changing the company’s strategy for the market.

Males of the four Ptiloris species, a group within the birds of paradise native to Australia and New Guinea, have long fascinated biologists as well as female birds with their courtship displays. A male repeatedly fans out dark satiny wing feathers into a curved arc. He sways his head rhythmically and opens his mouth to a soundtrack of short, sharp thwacking sounds.

On Android

With the release of Android 12, Google began allowing users to delete their ad ID permanently. On devices that have this feature enabled, you can open the Settings app and navigate to Security & Privacy > Privacy > Ads. Tap “Delete advertising ID,” then tap it again on the next page to confirm. This will prevent any app on your phone from accessing it in the future.

On IOS

Apple requires apps to ask permission before they can access your IDFA. When you install a new app, it may ask you for permission to track you.

Select “Ask App Not to Track” to deny it IDFA access.

To see which apps you have previously granted access to, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

In this menu, you can disable tracking for individual apps that have previously received permission. Only apps that have permission to track you will be able to access your IDFA.

You can set the “Allow apps to Request to Track” switch to the “off” position (the slider is to the left and the background is gray). This will prevent apps from asking to track in the future. If you have granted apps permission to track you in the past, this will prompt you to ask those apps to stop tracking as well. You also have the option to grant or revoke tracking access on a per-app basis.

Apple has its own targeted advertising system, separate from the third-party tracking it enables with IDFA. To disable it, navigate to Settings > Privacy > Apple Advertising and set the “Personalized Ads” switch to the “off” position to disable Apple’s ad targeting.

It's a poltical hip hop song?

The advertising for this that I heard, was for companies to use this AI instead of developers because devs are so expensive to hire. It was a podcast audio ad. Their web presence makes it sound like it's for devs to use.

Heads up

The use of AI combined with low-flying drones revolutionised the speed and rate at which the geoglyphs were discovered, according to a research paper published this week in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).

The paper said while it “took nearly a century to discover a total of 430 figurative Nazca geoglyphs”, using an AI system covering the entire Nazca region it “took just six months to discover 303 new figurative geoglyphs”.
