Hasn't Ben implied several times in the past that rap isn't music?

Look you don't understand, this is a dude thing. We're masculine and violent. Which is why we've gamed this out to not have violence, because if it gets violent we both lose. I'm a manly man. Don't make me get violent.

had no idea there was a new cheekface record, I'm gonna listen to more cheekface now

I'm just not voting. I don't even live in a swing state, so nobody will notice me voting for someone cool.

The isolation period for any contagious illness should not be 1 day... much less something as severe and contagious as covid.

I got two lessons like 15 years ago and then scrambled the rest of my knowledge together by playing with other musicians and trying to write music like the music I like. I think I'd be a better guitar player if I had more lessons, but I still have fun with it.

I think what you do kinda depends on what you want to get out of it. Do you want to write music? Might be worth it to have lessons. Maybe learn piano for music theory purposes (can get a lot of cheap keyboards these days).

If you just want to play other people's songs? You can probably get by following some youtube lessons and winging it from there.

Also sort of depends on the genres of music you're most interested in. I like a lot of punk/folk, so I tended towards rhythm guitar with fairly simple chord progressions. I might have bad techniques, but it doesn't matter much for the music I play. If you want to play a more technical style of guitar, lessons can help a lot there and technique becomes incredibly important.

I listened to the year in review and made myself mad for like a week.

Generation Loss is a podcast about movies hosted by leftists (will get into leftist politics if the movie calls for it, like their recent talk about Robocop).

Guys is a podcast about "Guys" (aka an episode about Lawn Guys or Bourbon Guys or Audiophile Guys). The hosts are leftist, but the podcast is mostly focused on comedy and not politics.

Beep Beep Lettuce is a leftist podcast about the news and smoking weed.

Work Stoppage is a podcast about labor and unionization.

Blowback is a podcast about American interventions abroad and the consequences of those interventions.

Death Panel is a leftist podcast about covid and public health.

Trillbilly Worker's Party is a leftest podcast about how they're sending us all to the rubber room.

The Replacements (especially their later work) is such a clear influence on this song and I love it.

I'm glad everyone agrees to wear their little patches when they go around the capitol acquiring intel, its so nice of them

I mean I'm just a little bug solving puzzles and defying the laws of space/time? and with only one button? that's so sick

(seriously, this game is brilliant in its design, definitely worth the 5 hours it takes to play through)

Right???

This is a universe with faster than light travel and near infinite resources. There's a homeless shelter in one of the major cities. I helped them out. Why the fuck is there a homeless shelter in a universe with FTL and near infinite resources?

I'm starting to think Fallout under Bethesda isn't a satire and their writers are just incapable of imagining anything beyond capitalism.

There will be no collective thanksgiving, no elegies, no closure. As we have seen time and time again throughout human history, pandemics do not end—they echo.

The last paragraph of this essay stuck with me so I thought I'd share it. I wish we could collectively grieve over this awful thing that has happened and is happening to us.

Not a huge surprise with everything we know, but still yikes

Game looks cool as hell. Spiritually in the same vein as Jet Set Radio. I was surprised to find out it's coming out today, but I feel like I haven't heard a ton about it? I'm definitely going to be checking it out.

That doesn't mean anything! That's not a thing! That has no basis in material reality!

If people are still getting infected all over the world all year, it's still a pandemic!
