Dell has some 4k monitors. Last time I looked into it they were regular monitors with a dell dock built in, so you can drive it with a laptop via a single USBC cable that also powers the laptop.

Its a fair point, and definitely worth pointing out. They aren't as bad as the others in that very specific way, which is commendable for now while it suits them. The moment they can make more money by selling vs. holding your data, I have no doubts they will pivot.
Ability to zero in on location is definitely the thing that keeps me on the platform. I can't say its always cheaper, it maybe in some cases but its often equal or higher than a budget hotel in my experience. The fact that I can get a unit with a kitchen and within walking distance of a few of my planned vacation activities is the reason I check it out.

I wonder if this is something that will help bring Firefox usage numbers up to what they should be. Since so many Firefox users are privacy focused and resist fingerprinting, a lot of users don't show up in usage numbers. Maybe there aren't enough of them to make a difference, I don't know. Thus is the only non-nefarious usage I could think up.
The OP discusses exactly a solution to the anyone setting up an instance to capture the data, because the users home instance federates their votes anonymously.
There maybe flaws in it, not that's exactly what it aims to solve.
