The Miyawaki method is an afforestation technique for cultivating fast-growing groves of native plants, with the dense, mixed planting intended to simulate the layers of a natural forest.

Some of the chemicals scientists have found in garments – such as tributyl phosphate, dimethyl fumarate, and disperse dyes – can be acutely toxic or hazardous, causing skin reactions or asthma. Others have been proven, outside of their use on clothing, to have links to cancer, reproductive toxicity, allergies, and skin sensitization.

Shanna Swan has been investigating the impact of chemicals on human fertility for decades

This was published one year ago, and I wonder if there have been followup trials since.

The study was small, and experts say it needs to be replicated. But for 18 people with rectal cancer, the outcome led to “happy tears.”

I see. Could you perhaps direct me to the support community for lemmy?

Earlier clicked create post, saw that the news link I was about to post had already been submitted, then tried to exit the page and could not. Had to go to the URL field to return to lemmy.world front page and was greeted with a 'Are you sure you want to leave the site?' message.

Every expert interviewed for this article noted that improving communication skills could have a tremendous impact on both the person with the disease and the caregivers and that there were free resources available to help.

EXTRACT The NCERT has dropped a chapter titled Periodic Classification Of Elements from 2023’s Class 10 science textbook for 15- to 16-year-olds. However, the Class 11 chemistry textbook still has a chapter titled Classification Of Elements And Periodicity In Properties that traces the history of the development of the periodic table of elements.

Passages on Darwin’s theory of evolution and sustainable management of natural resources have also been excised from Classes 9 and 10 study material. Evolution remains in the Class 12 textbook.

The changes affect some 134 million children between 11 and 18 years old in Indian schools.

Me too. I used to spend hours on Reddit. Joined back in the day when Digg users migrated to Reddit. I do miss some of the subs, but I've also become bored with so much of the recycling. Lemmy and Kbin are relatively new, but I welcome the open source concept behind federation, and here's an opportunity to invest in creating and being part of communities that own their contributions.

Is phage therapy at all relevant or applicable in vaccine development?

While the viral nature of the “phage” was only widely accepted in the 1940s, attempts to use the phenomenon in treating infections started early. After raising hopes in the interwar years, by 1945 phage therapy had been abandoned almost entirely in the West, until the recent revival of interest in response to the crisis of antibiotic resistance.

'The deputy president of the P-Hailing Organisation of Malaysia estimates 20 per cent of the 403,637 post-SPM examination students to enter the food delivery industry, known locally as p-hailing, as riders this year due to job and financial constraints.

'...The newspaper previously reported on June 1 that more than 458,000 SPM graduates are estimated not to further their studies in the next three years.

'It cited statistics from an unnamed source showing that 48.74 per cent or 180,680 SPM graduates in 2021, an increase from the 35.16 per cent, or 115,939 SPM graduates in 2020, stopped their education after taking the final secondary school examination in Form Five.'

With these numbers the gig industry will be saturated ... but maybe high attrition rate amongst gig workers?

Testing the beta of memmy, using iOS on my iPhone, and unable to log into lemmy.world. The app reports an error: 'email_not_verified'.

Could there be an issue with the database and my account? The app's dev assures me that he is able to log into lemmy.world with the app, so the server is not blocking memmy. Is there an issue with my email not having been verified? But then, how was I able to create my account on lemmy.world without verifying my email?

Using on iPhone with iOS 15.7.6 with TestFlight. Prompted to create an account or log in to existing account. Chose the latter. Keyed in my server (https://lemmy.world), next keyed in my u/n, and then my password. Reported error: 'email_not_verified'. Unable to log in.

UPDATE: Thanks to @[email protected] (memmy dev) and @ruud (lemmy.world admin), now able to sign in. Ruud reported that curiously my email had not been verified when I signed up and created an account on lemmy.world.
