In Australia, esim is so easy, I can press a button on my carriers website and it takes up to an hour (always 10-15) and I'm off on the new phone with a link to the new SIM

I mean porting with esim is rather easy. If you're with a good provider it's an hour process. Still not as good as regular Sim, but if you need to swap between multiple phones at the drop of a hat, you're in a very small minority.
