(Or Warcraft) Basically by profession rather than with their first names.

It's what I used to think of Dota character names (compared to their lol counterparts).

Is this site legit? I just got a popup telling me I had a virus on my phone and I should click on the button to remove it. With a countdown from 3 minutes.

I get your sarcasm. My comment wasn't meant to be that deep and yes I can see that his success is a symptom of a deeper problem. I just thought that him being almost comically corrupt, detestable and yet successful is a one off.

Yes but the power of it is that you can in effect refine your search using natural language, like talking to a person, as it remembers the last 2-3 exchanges.

And it presents the information the way you asked to see it.

For example (my side of the "conversation"):

  • What is hamas?
  • Compared to Hezbollah?
  • what are the differences between Shia and Sunni?

The citations confirm the information, they are not the end goal. The added value is the fact that the information is pre-digested and presented in a way that matches my learning process. It's a lot easier for me to assimilate information by getting answers to questions that I've asked.

As far as I know Google and Bing return AI results just above the usual web page results.

In addition AI LLM tools like Copilot (the mobile app) and Perplexity which cite their sources with links to websites really make it easier to weed out the BS from LLM answers, if you use them carefully. In my case, these tools replace search engines in 80% of the searches that I do.

I always saw him like an anomaly, an unexpected improbable blip in history that may have an effect over decades but the disruptions it brought will go away... eventually.

When he came into power I immediately thought of something in the Foundation series (I try to avoid spoiling it because even if the books have been around for some time people are discovering it through the Apple TV series).

So yeah it'll get better but perhaps not in our lifetime...

However you look at it it always boils down to marketing and comms. Everyone looks for the best way to get the votes, testing how far they can go. But the left can't afford to be unethical because that's part of their identity and they would lose their core voters. The right however... Found trump.

It sounds lame but the best way for the democrats to win is to get people to vote. I believe that was the single reason behind Obama's ama on Reddit a few years back.

I never said that art will necessarily come from AI in its current form but it's true that it's what I had in mind. You basically expressed something very similar to what I meant in your last paragraph.

And yes I do love pencil drawing :)

But I'm more thinking about conceptual artists with decades of work behind them that I can imagine will create art using these AI tools that will transcend what the average Joe/Jane is producing with these tools right now. To produce something that will shock, move us, make us think.

There are so many different facets to art.

The plain milk chocolate ones are meh but the other ones with nuts or salted caramel are quite nice.

It's a tool. Artists will learn how to use it to create art.

Exactly.

And India doesn't have chillies add Italy doesn't have tomatoes... Where do we stop?
