Thanks for the correction! I'll correct this in the OC.

Hmm, while I'd definitely endorse trying out scale on bare metal. I've seen posts in the past of people having performance issues running on a VM. Now, while that was over well of a while ago (year or 2 maybe?), and it's possible they might have fixed those issue by now. It's still worth noting you might not get the true experience of testing out Scale through a VM.

  1. Yes, Lemm.ee is a separate instance.
  2. You subscribe to communities that are made inside different instances.
  3. Their just different instances.
  4. I've got different accounts on different instances in the event one instance is having issues or is down.
  5. You're looking at communities hosted on that particular instance.

~~6. Local feed is communities on your instance and all is communities on your instance combined with communities you're subscribed in.~~

  1. It's all the communities your instance is federated with.

Edit: Corrected point 6 as pointed out by Communist.

I know I'm biased to Scale, but if you do end up building a second Proxmox box, I'd say trying out Scale before installing Proxmox, just to get a feel for it. I've really enjoyed Scale's web UI, and it's ease of use for deploying things, so if you've got the time, might as well see what's available.

Nice! I used to Plex a while back but ended up moving over to Jellyfin since I wanted more granular customization. How's Proxmox? I remember back when I was browsing around I briefly looked at it but ended up going with TrueNAS Scale due to the ease of use and large app's library due in part to TrueCharts.

Oh wow! That looks awesome! I'll definitely have to star that.

If you want to build up your ratio, you should try part seeding or outside seeding.

I've never used Friendica, so I'm honestly not sure. Maybe this could be related to the ipv6 issue that the instance hoster would need to fix.

[–] Sleeping 3 points 2 years ago (6 children)

Oh! Hmm, I've never run into that issue before. Although I have noticed on some instances it works faster and more reliable than others.

Are you on an Apple product, since that could be related to the “iCloud’s Private Relay” issue, since you're getting a 502 error?

Following communities could be another issue entirely, sometimes you have to subscribe then unsubscribe multiple times in order to get it to work.
