My ass probably could appreciate real performance if I was into audiobooks overall, I just like books as books. I'm not exactly happy about all content being replaced with AI slop. However I don't think spotify cares, if something is cheaper they will go for it, just like other corpos.

Oh well I think they will be losing as well, people don't even really need the audio book providers anymore, since they could just do AI ebooks themselves if they just have the text ebook.

Audio books are no longer expensive to produce. I bet my ass most except for the biggest titles will be AI generated in very short time. Whether people like it or not.

Started college at 2020 January. Information technology. I did well during the time I was there but whole covid thing just made me hate my school and like I needed change.

We were going back and forth remote and in person classes, both of which were really bad in terms of quality of the teaching and I felt like if I am mostly learning from external sources and teaching sucks.

I refused to attend in person classes due to covid risks despite it being kind of mandated so I managed to negotiate that I just study on my own and take the exams. And my grades didn't even get worse.

I'm not the type of person to keep doing something I feel like is useless for a paper that might give me slight advantage for getting a job. Education itself is free in my country but I just hated getting more and more student debt to cover other my living costs.

I decided "fuck this I'm just gonna get a IT job and teach myself and that's what I did. I wouldn't say that I'm at my dream job now but I feel confident I am able to progress on this career just fine despite dropping out.

I don't want to be even in one meeting at a time without camera on.

If someone unironically wore gloves like that I would bully them without hesitation.

It does but when you input error logs it does pretty good job at finding issues. I tried it out first by making game of snake that plays itself. Took some prompting to get all features I wanted but in the end it worked great in no time. After that I decided to try to make distortion VST3 plugin similar to ZVEX Fuzz Factory guitar pedal. It took lot's of prompting to get out something that actually builds without error I was quickly able to fix those when I copied the error log to the prompt. After that I kept prompting it further eg. "great, now it works but Gate knob doesn't seem to do anything and knobs are not centered".

In the end I got perfectly functional distortion plugin. Haven't compared it to an actual pedal version yet. Not that AI will just replace us all but it can be truly powerful once you go beyond initial answer.

Some fork of youtube-dl would probably do. Personally I use JDownloader 2 (open source) to download not just from youtube but from any other sites as well. It runs locally.

I'm a bit disappointed to the practical uses, but I still get some value out of AI. I sometimes use chatgpt to tweak existing SQL scripts at work, and as a trouble shooting assistant. Also I use this tool ultimate vocal remover to extract stems from songs, mainly to make myself instrumentals to practice singing over. Those are really only things I do regularly, despite trying different self hosted AI tools. Most are cool but not very useful.

Anyone got suggestions for alternatives to Teamviewer, business use? Needs to have: -unattended access -around 2000 hosts -4 or 5 people using it for support -cheaper than teamviewer -file sharing -as lightweight as possible -works on other systems than windows (not obligatory) -decent UI

any personal experiences, even if they differ from these specs are welcome 🙂 Tried to look for alternatives, but so far nothing feels right for my use case.
