Yeah, in the end I managed to make it work. Quite cool. I wanted to set it up in such a way that all EU SEs get a tick every time I search for something but sadly it seems Startpage is giving me issues.

It's one of those apps where you can't go by the reviews.

Basically they changed the interface quite a bit recently and so old customers got upset. But I use the app daily and they are seriously improving it to the point that I'm relying less and less on Google Maps. They keep adding more and more business details to the app.

If we were having this conversation a few months ago I would have said something different, so really the Improvements have been noticeable lately. I recommend that you give it a go for a couple of days at least and see how it serves you.

China does everything better than the US. iPhones are made in China.

For my Americans across the pond, I ask earnestly:

What could Russia do today that would cement themselves as an unparalleled oligarchy where just a few people control everything with no regard for amybody else in their country, that the US isn't already doing?

Yep, this is the explanation. People are still trying to rationalize "why do this in months, its all gonna collapse!" not understanding that collapse is the actual point.

Have you tried talking to customer support? I hear they are quite responsive.

I 100% agree. Whenever these companies start with their own projects I immediately get suspicious that their goal is to enshittify down the line with vendor lock-in.

The only reasons why I'm seriously considering a Tuxedo are 1. European brand and 2. Double SSD.

Not a lot of laptops seem to be offering double SSD while being Linux compatible, so my hands are kinda tied.

When was it the last time a Christian did that? Other than JWs who have stopped knocking on doors like 9 years ago.

Btw, I've 100% had Hare Krishna's and other "better yourself" religions bothering me for money. And christianity is a "better yourself" type of religion, too.

There's so much wrong with your comment that really, all the downvotes you are getting are totally warranted.

Nice. Cheers!!

Understood 🫡 thanks for that. I am generally happy with IONOS however their DNS propagation seems to take forever. I have a new domain I bought a couple days ago and my email provider's DNS still hasn't propagated... I thought we were past the 72h propagation era, but I guess not with everyone.

Doesn't Migadu work for calendars? Its a bit finicky, but I used these instructions and it worked for me.

Not sure about contacts though.

Disable DMs? (lemm.ee)
submitted 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Is there a way to disable DMs? I keep being spammed by users from an instance called sh.itjust.works promoting some weird out-of-platform personal profiles.

They usually send this stuff and then immediately seem to get banned, but I still see their stuff since images are displayed by default. Seems like a big oversight to allow this.

Is there a way to block receiving DMs? Or at least have some sort of Accept/Decline dm feature like on Reddit?

Pretty please. I got used to using it on the other platform that shall not be named, and now I can't live without it.

It's free, helps low vision readers and can be downloaded directly from the Braile Institute.
