I had the exact same problem with Ubuntu trying to get steam games to run. Unfortunately I could not resolve it and was advised to move to another distro. I chose Fedora and now everything works perfectly without having to make any adjustments. I know it's not the answer you're looking for, but it is a solution.

I just finished Dust, the third in the dystopian/sci-fi Wool trilogy by Hugh Howey. The first two books are great but the third feels a little rushed. I can feel the publisher breathing down his neck to get the book out as quickly as possible. But overall I enjoyed the trilogy and the grand narrative is even more prescient with everything happening in the world today. I'd recommend it for sure!

One of my favourite sci-fi books of all time. I managed to have nothing spoiled and was stunned by the direction the book went in. Loved it.

Controversial opinion here, but I think it was the best Stargate. The mystery they were building was so captivating. Really sad it was cancelled.
