Yeah, I was hoping user level instance blocking would also block users from the instance. Hopefully the functionality will be added in later.

Lol as if a tiny visual toggle to remove a UI element from appearing in a single screen is so time and labor intensive that it's going to make it completely impossible for the developer to work on "more pressing things". If it's such a hassle to add and has no benefit, why did every other lemmy app developer add it to their apps, without anyone even needing to ask for it in the first place for that matter?

Just because you don't see a benefit in it or refuse to doesn't mean it isn't a useful feature, otherwise it wouldn't be in any of the other apps at all. And this post is a "feature request" not a "feature demand", I didn't ask that the feature be given some kind of special attention, just put it out there that it would be useful to have. If you don't like that, move on. The post wasn't addressed to you, it was addressed to the developer, so you speaking on his behalf on what he may or may not consider a useful or time-intensive feature to add doesn't really have any value to me.

Conversely, I don’t see any downside to it. If it's added and you don't like it, then just don't use the setting. It doesn't affect you. Other lemmy apps have this setting and anyone who wants to use it uses it. No real reason for it not to be added.

I prefer not to see karma scores, not on my profile or any other. Karma ruined reddit for me with the karma rat race that caused so many low effort posts and comments. And no, I'm not going to just never go to user profiles on account of this. If profiles weren't meant to be accessible, then they wouldn't be publicly visible at all.

A setting to hide the total karma count on user profiles (including your own) would be nice to have. I don't really care to see that stuff myself, and karma doesn't even mean anything on Lemmy either way. Thanks.

Very good choice for a mobile browser based on Firefox. I've been using Iceraven on my phone for some years now and it's definitely better than default mobile Firefox. I'm sure you'll like it.

I love this explanation so much lol

The game's exclusive early access period for purchasers of the premium edition just released. Big name streamers are playing and streaming the game. Reviews are pouring out of every game review site. On top of all that, the general release is days away. Obviously, people are gonna be talking about it.

You can get the FFUpdater app from F-Droid, then use that to install Brave to your phone. But at that point, you may as well just use FFUpdater to install the much better alternative, Firefox, which doesn't indirectly support Chromium engine dominance and doesn't have that weird crypto crap Brave has.

Edit: Someone else replied to you suggesting Mull, which is also downloadable through the FFUpdater app.

To be clear, this is just a joke, and I don't look down on direct downloading. It absolutely has its place, and sometimes I do it myself if it's just faster to download a file directly. Torrenting is just so much more convenient, though, especially when using Jackett's manual search.

I've deleted one of my comments, but I'm still getting replies on it, indicating that it's still visible to others and not appearing as "deleted" as it should be appearing. I logged in with my alt account on a different instance and verified that the comment was still visible despite the fact that it was supposed to be deleted.

Is there something I can do about this or is this just some kind of wonky federation related issue? The comment was posted on a different instance than my home instance, if that matters at all. Could that be why it won't delete and still seems to be visible?

So far, it seems that out of all the various Lemmy apps, Jerboa is the only one that actually shows downvote counts. All the other apps have it removed or abstracted into a percentage the way reddit handled it. It's very annoying. Will Sync have an option to see downvote counts for comments and posts?

I've been reading up on this FediPact stuff, and I'm curious: will the Divisions by zero instance be defederating Meta when they launch their new app that's supposed to be Fediverse compatible? I checked the Anti-Meta FediPact list, but couldn't find @db0 listed on there. I did read on a different post that the creator of the FediPact list has been blocking some people from signing it for whatever reason, so I'm not sure if that's what happened here.

As in, how do you mention someone in a comment, so they get a notification that they've been mentioned somewhere? Is it even possible yet? I've tried writing @ following by the username (not screen name, though I tried that too) but it didn't work. Problem is, I've seen people do this in comments before, just can't figure out how.

Edit: Solved.

Not sure how much longer it'll be open though
