I think the most effective reply is highlighting their methodology and moving on, rather than allowing yourself to be bogged down in rebuttals. You can never convince them because they are not "debating" earnestly, and the audience they are performing for isn't interested in following a debate and will dismiss both sides.

Agree completely, I also just feel it's important to highlight that style of inauthentic behavior.

What are you accomplishing, right here, right now, with this comment?

The function of accounts like the one you are replying to is to encourage cynicism and inaction among otherwise anti-fascist people.

Failing that, they will try to exhaust you with "debate".

Well, this season looks officially ridiculous.

Got it, appreciate the feedback! I actually tried the new Libra Color briefly and found the screen too hard to read without the backlight, wheras my Kindle I almost never use the backlight indoors. That said the Libra 2 was really nice and I may go back to it anyway.

Thank you! Does this work for all models?

Thanks yes I was looking at Boox but I really want it to be as not tablet-like as possible, and the battery thing would be a small hurdle for me. Kobo has some nice devices, I wish there was an updated sage as I don't really care about colors.

That's a great explainer, thank you! Any guidance on pointing me in the right direction to find Kindle jail breaking walk throughs? I may just end up keeping mine.

I have an aging Kindle and am looking for a new eReader to both read books and articles I've saved throughout the day. I use Wallabag to save articles. I like it over Pocket because it's better for paywalls because it fetches content directly from the browser.

I am leaning Kobo because of apps like Wallabako and KoReader (not exactly what that is yet but people seem to like it).

Anyone else have a similar setup or have any advice?

I was as surprised as you!

Note that r/coolguides is a very "normie" subreddit and may require extra handholding. There are a lot of people who don't seem to understand what "open source" means. Some looking for "The Lemmy app" etc. Be patient and helpful!
