Mutilating the bodies of people too young or otherwise unable to give consent.

Not for something like medicine or crops that people will die if the copyright holder abuses their copyright. In that case we have to act for the greater good and make medicine first, compensate creators later, if at all.

I would also specify that your religion doesn't get to negatively (and of there's any confusion about what is negative, err on the side of caution) impact their children in any way. Otherwise, as children are a very vulnerable group that will grow into an adult, it's just a loophole for religious people to continue to propagate their religion without arguing against an opponent qualified to actually think sceptically, or commit harms against minors unable to protect themselves.

I can't see what the thing in the middle is supposed to be besides a table saw, but I can't see the rexes either, just people praying. Why would they pray over a table saw?

"Exposure"

But, actually.

They pay for others to see their papers, since people only usually see them if they're in journals. Also, many licencing agreements for academic funding restrict where and how the results can be published.

Atheism is just rejecting the claim that Hod or a specific God claim exists, it isn't claiming that you believe with certainty he does not. I am an agnostic atheist, I reject the claim that the Jewish, Christian, whatever God exists and in fact positively believe they do not exist because of its self-contradictory nature. I admit that there might be a higher power that created our universe and is outside of time, etc, but it's unknown/unknowable.

Peer reviewers don't get paid under the current system though, nor do the researchers. Just the journals get paid, for providing a platform to take advantage of everyone else's hard work.

They shouldn't be published in journals at all, any solution that tries to make journals better rather than eliminating them in favour of a free online federated database isn't addressing the root issue.
