@[email protected] , how would you feel about us re-posting links from the ROS specific section of these weekly news posts? We could cherry pick favorites, and cross post them here for the rest of the Fediverse. With being able to upvote, plus added thumbnail previews, they'd at least be more discoverable on this aggregator, as compared to many small bullet point links in an external forum.

Seems good to me

You beat me by 17 minutes, lol! In-between checking !ros and then reading the news, I was just about to post this when Lemmy showed that the link would have been a repost. I love that feature.

Anyone here thinking of going to ROSCon this year? It's been a while since it was last held from the US, or from North America at all.

I didn't know about that repost feature, it seems awesome. I am from Europe, so I won't go this year.

Have you attended any previous ROSCons? I think the most recent one in Europe was in Spain from 2018. Although ROScon France has been held regularly recently, plus I think folks are trying to organize something similar for Germany.

No, I never went to a ROSCon, in 2018 I wasn't yet acquainted with ROS. I think the ROScon France is not held in English. The Germany one I can't go, but I am hopping that becomes a recurrent event.

I've been to most sense 2015. Co-locating the conference with IROS made it relatively easy to attend both when publishing to that academic venue. This'll be the first year in a long time since breaking from the norm. I wonder how it'll go.
