The browser tab is blank, and unless I'm doing something wrong there is no Favicon set for Lemmy.World. I would hazard a guess that most of us have lots and lots of tabs open at any given time. Would it be possible to add an icon to help make it easier to locate lemmy.world tabs?

lemmy.world has a favicon but it seems that currently it's too large

Ah interesting. I am using Firefox.

Same, as honestly most people should. Well, that or a good fork.

You can check the Network tab in the Developer Tools, this is the image I'm getting served as favicon:

If something is bloking it it should say it in the Transferred column. I had to tweak some addons to make it work.

I see it there, in transferred, it shows service worker. Everything appears to be working. If I may, what did you have to tweak to make it work because I do have a lot of extensions and userscripts running.

If it says transferred... then I'm not sure what to do :/. You can try removing all cookies, storage and such for the site.

I don't remember exactly, but it was probably related to the usual suspects (in my case): uMatrix, uBlock Origin and Request Control.

I'm the person who reported that. As a temporary workaround I'm using the Favicon Switcher extension (with a smaller file). You have to do it per Firefox instance; the settings aren't synced.

Sorry for the very slow reaction but it's been resized to 512x512

I see a lemming colored like the world in my favorite icon. I use lemmy.world on Firefox which is up to date so not sure why yours isn’t working.

Me too, also Firefox for Android

I suspect you have it cached and it was of a proper size before, hence your cache supplies a usable size. While the current version on the server is way too big and hence does not get rendered if loaded.
