Works for me on the vanilla lemmy.world web site. Maybe whatever client you're using is scuffed, or doesn't support it.
Boost spoiler formatting seems to be broken. Oof.
On Sync it's so inconsistent. I've definitely seen spoiler tags work. But I also frequently see them broken, while other comments are saying they work.
Maybe it only works if the post is on my instance?

Edit: I was wrong! It does work on Sync. Not sure what applications or interfaces it doesn't work on.

It's a fascinating example of the psychology of (face) perception. I scanned the entire image several times with no success, but literally the second I decided to turn my phone around, Kanye jumped out at me.
