Obtainium allows you to install and update Apps directly from their releases pages, and receive notifications when new releases are made available.

It's a very cool app. It's not yet perfect but the dev(s) are getting there.

I like to get apps liked to receive apps like element-x semi automatically from github with obtainium. As long as a lot of apps on fdroid miss the reproducibility the devs directly and github are the most trustworthy source. As soon as there's a reproducible build, froid wins because then they act as a proof for the source code.
