Thank you. This post has haunted my brain on occasion over the years. I couldn’t remember the person’s reply, just the set-up and the joke. You have released me from my torment for the next two weeks until I forget again.

The simple fact that you made it yourself is a huge health plus. In my country so many people just purchase ready made food or heat highly processed versions of real food.

If you want to start eating healthy, instead of trying to switch to drastically different cuisine than you are used to, try to maximize homemade foods first if you haven't done that already. You can make things that literally taste better and are way healthier than some of the comfort foods that you are buying processed or ready-made. Making dietary changes that are rewarding instead of self punishment are way easier to maintain.
