Edit: updated meme due to being dumb and having not enough Ts in the word boycott.

Edit #2: in an attempt to ensure that no one thinks that this is a real post from Whitehouse.gov (because like, it's getting hard to fucking tell at this point) I'm updating the meme again but without the navigation or article buttons.

PS, I used WorldwideHeadline Regular for the font incase anyone want to use this as a template or what ever

Boycotts have been illegal for a long time:

The state has been consistently serving a genocidal cult at the expense of our supposed "rights".

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 hours ago

The boycotts themselves aren't illegal. Its primarily that the government has made sustaining a boycott against Israel harder by pressuring non-profit organizations that could potentially aid or support a boycott by threatening their federal funding.

Its still absurd and disgusting. It might also still be unconstitutional and at the very least is clearly against the spirit of the 1st amendment.

Isnt this just evil DEI, only for companies?

[–] [email protected] 76 points 1 day ago (3 children)

It’s illegal to not buy something? How does that work?

First: Jesus christ.

Second: Of course, enforcement will be difficult, so it will probably mostly be an honor system. But lets see...

Nobody tell them I turned down an offer at an Israeli company because it was Israeli

You can borrow a law enforcement technique called https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallel_construction.

I'm not a bot that just spits out Wikipedia articles, I swear.

(First time I've set safe search to strict in years 😄)

[–] [email protected] 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Even if I wanted one I wouldn’t have the money to buy a Tesla. Is not being able to buy things also illegal now?

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 day ago

Except you aren’t required to buy a car. But I get the sentiment.

[–] potoo22 1 points 18 hours ago

Unless you live in a big city, you practically need a car in the US.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I don't even understand how that's supposed to work... Make boycott illegal is more or less forcing people to buy specific stuff ?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 hours ago

It's literally been happening for years. It's illegal to boycott a genocidal cult.

Boycott is more than the personal decision not to buy something but an organized action including public announcements, reach-outs, protests, ...

I don't know which one the first amendment is though. I guess it's freedom of speech?

[–] Dhs92 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Full text of the first:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 20 hours ago

They sure do want to abridge that freedom of speech and right to peaceably assemble.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 23 hours ago

Freedom of assembly (to organize a coordinated boycott)

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago

Oh, i get it, this makes more sense to me now. Yeah i think first amendment is freedom of speech and the right to assemble around some idea I guess.

38 US states already have anti-BDS laws on the books. Unfortunately this has already been here to a large extent.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 1 day ago (3 children)

What the ever-loving fuck? How big is Israel’s dick that has all the countries lining to suck it?

[–] [email protected] 12 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

It's effectively the 51st state with plausible deniability and nukes. Going against the country that spends more on its military than the next 10 combined is a big factor keeping them in line.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

The knee bending to Isreal, and Zionists' obsession with racial purity is what makes so many conspiracy theorists buy into the "jewish cabal" conspiracy

[–] [email protected] 9 points 23 hours ago

Israel's current existence is unironically anti-semetic. They benefit from it.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 23 hours ago

America’s Israel First policy has really taken shape in the past several years. Both Biden and Trump are wholly complicit in sacrificing our sovereignty for Israel, and it’s absolutely pathetic.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 23 hours ago

Consider that there are claims that Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell were Mossad spies.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 day ago

Yeah, this. I had to sign a contract with the state (prior to all the Israel and Palestine stuff) and I was like the fuck is there a clause saying I can’t boycott anything to do with Israel?? Like in completely unrelated contracts you have to promise not to boycott or divest from Israel and I had no idea how or why that was even a thing because it didn’t cover any other country or entity. Israel has absolutely insanely good lobbying (or intelligence, or both).

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 day ago (2 children)

They lost the extra "T" in boycott.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Because boycotts are still legal, only boycots are not

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Boycots sounds like something the catholic church supports.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 23 hours ago

It was named after a British tax collector in Ireland. Charles Boycott who was so hated nobody even the post office and grocery stores refused to do business with him. It got pc renamed as cancel culture when the name isn’t gendered. The best boycott of all time was the Montgomery bus boycotts.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

Damn, lol. I should've used a spell checker. Will update.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Woah is this OC? I must say, if it wasn't for the Russian flag I wouldn't know this was satire.
