Make sure I leave a positive impact on people.

Buy 100 acres, invite 100 people to live on it with me, build crops and resources to feed, clothe and shelter each other in a sustainable way (without separating from society and ignoring capitalism exists). We have the technology and knowledge to do this (go back to villages) and not live like the stone ages. We can have all the things if we work together instead of running away and escaping solo

Learn to live with my mental health (anxiety, depression) and have good friends to hangout with. Gf/bf would be great too. Getting a job that I can handle without breaking down and get some money so I'm not such a burden on everyone. And that's about it as of rn I suppose. Currently have no irl friends and never had a job and also feel like I wasted my life(26).

Dying in good health

A house by the lake and early retirement are the only goals I've yet to achieve. Ones I've already acomplished include getting fit, getting a girlfriend, house, pickup truck and being self-employed.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 hours ago

Move to another country. That's been my specific goal since November 6th.

Do my dumbass, well-paying job for another 18 years and accumulate enough wealth to help my kids establish their own families, after which I will fuck off into the sunset.

Surviving this rampant Fascism™ 2.0? 🤷🏼‍♂️ Ask again in 5 years. Good luck, all.

Retire. My career has been my focus my entire adult life, at the expense of everything else, and now I am ensuring that I can retire young enough to enjoy myself and wealthy enough to never have a care.

Leave the world better than I found it. Raise happy, fulfilled kids who do the same.

I used to think "being a millionaire" but that won't even get me a decent house anymore let alone leave me set for life...

I guess I just want to be able to leave something for my family and the UK government not take completely all of it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 hour ago

What do you regard as "decent"? A million pounds will buy you a lot of very nice houses.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 hours ago

I used to think "being a millionaire" but that won't even get me a decent house anymore let alone leave me set for life...

All the more reason you (and everybody else) should definitely be setting it as a goal and accomplishing it: you'll be screwed if you don't.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 hours ago

I want my government to provide enough for everyone, not that I would have to work hard and be lucky just so a few people in my family could have better lives.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 7 hours ago

Live as an artist to take control of my time schedule. That means earn enough with art to not have to do a "normal" job to pay rent.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Get good enough to play a show, honestly it would be equally as satisfying just to play my songs for friends in a park or something.

You should do it! What’s your instrument?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 17 minutes ago

I'm just another shitty guitarist with bigger dreams than sense, but it's very fun. Thanks for the encouragement!

[–] [email protected] 6 points 8 hours ago

Survive without punching my own timecard. In my situation, that is a lofty aspiration.

I hope to go through another phase of electronics hardware and circuit design. I would like to explore grassroots radio and try fabricating my own circuit boards with more than 2 layers.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 hours ago

Within the next year or two I’d like to publish a few tracks of my music as an EP

Visit Antarctica. Earth's most beautifully desolate continent that is further away from us than space is, plus it's cold! 😃

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 hours ago

What would happen if everybody decided to do that? Personally I think there are places which we should be content to admire from a distance.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

I was lucky enough to go, it's amazing, totally recommend.

The penguins smell bad but they're still pretty cute.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Aw cool! Where about did you go?

Oh I've heard that about penguins haha. When I was younger my parents would joke that penguins are half bird and half fish, and I guess for the smell at least that's not too far off!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 hours ago

Left from Ushuaia down to Deception Island and further south to near Brown Station. Went on an old Russian science ship being run by Quark.

Penguins have a special anus able to withstand higher pressures, so they can poop away from the nest. There's so many penguins in close proximity though they're all just covered in poop. They live off krill so it's pretty stinky.

Live off of finding CVEs. I'm currently messing with Android's TEE, hoping that hasn't been picked clean.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Great goal, you do bug bounties? You find some already? I’ve sponsored cybersecurity devs to do them before: I pay for their work upfront, we divide the reward and the credit, in a way.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 hour ago

No not yet... What I'm doing is closer to academia rather than practical, but I do want to do practical. I'm thinking of going for Android system security, and I feel that I need to find what I will specialise in first.

Finish the crowd thinking environment that Vannevar Bush (Memex), Alan Kay (Dynabook), and Ted Nelson (Xanadu) envisioned.
