Hey! I'm sure Trump's got more than just concepts of a plan to put food on the table. We just need to remember his great accomplishments!

First President in history to serve a full term and increase the deficit every year he was in office.
First President in history to maintain a debt to GDP ratio over 100% for his entire term
Highest annual budget deficit
Most added to the national debt in a single term
Most new unemployment claims
Largest single day point drop in the history of the Dow
First President in almost a century to lose jobs in his first term
First major party candidate in half a century to lose the popular vote twice
Longest government shutdown in history (and he did that while his own party controlled both chambers of Congress)
First President in the history of approval ratings to maintain a net negative approval rating for his entire term
First President to be impeached twice
First President to have bipartisan support for his conviction after impeachment (which happened both times)
Most indictments, guilty pleas, and criminal convictions of members of an administration

With records like that I.... Legitimately wonder why my fellow Americans were dumb enough to vote him back in office.

He already said he’s not going to lower grocery prices. He said that’s hard.

As a Canadian I’m not staying out of your politics anymore. The US electorate can go fuck themselves.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Hard? All he needs to do is turn the "grocery prices" dial to the left. That's how it works, right?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 hours ago

I mean, yeah

[–] [email protected] 72 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Please get more Canadians to meddle here, we're not doing all that great...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 hours ago

Maybe they could take a few Canadians back? Like Raphael Cruz.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Except the yahoo trucker convoy assholes. They can go live in Florida with the rest of em.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 day ago

A lot of those trucks were rented.

Most of them were just abandoned.

What self respecting trucker is just giving up their truck?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Perhaps you haven't been following Canada's state of affairs? They're not going too great either.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

You know they're fucked when Trudeau leaves, and the mood isn't "Well thank God, we were wrong about him, he wasn't the hero he seemed early on in his term. Let's now have a moment of silence for the victims of MAID's Genocide of the Disabled."

It's "Oh Dear God, the Canadians are about to elect Jordan Peterson or some shit aren't they? Cmon America's Hat, you're supposed to be the sane and progressive North American Country! You can't do this to us! I'm one of the many transchicks hoping to claim asylum up there when President ~~Trump~~ Musk opens up the camps."

[–] [email protected] 1 points 17 hours ago

Sadly no, it’s a frustrating time.

At least we might get economist mark carney in the drivers seat to fight off trumps economic nonsense. It’s improbable but that’s my new hope.

Everyone knows groceries come from Greenland and the Panama Canal

[–] [email protected] 22 points 1 day ago

Sooooooooooo much produce comes from Mexico. Antagonizing them can literally only make things worse for your grocery bill. There is no upside for your average person.

Were can i buy these stickers?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago

I always gotta suggest Etsy when the opportunity arises. Nothing exactly like this that I can find on there, but close enough.

Just gotta make sure you double check the sticker count and material, otherwise you're paying extra for one single vinyl sticker.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 day ago (8 children)

Please don’t put them all over gas pumps like they did.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Where should we put them? On random grocery items that have miraculously not gone down in price?

Trump isn’t in office and he’s already renaming Eurasia.

His cabinet picks for one thing

Their nomination is not secured and already had Matt Gatez drop out because of enough backlash

They don't want focused backlash to make it happen for others

The NC Supreme Court trying to overturn a Democrat victory, for a second thing.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

NC has a sordid history with Democracy.

1898-White supremacists do not like newly elected representative, decide to have a massacre etc.

As the violence continued, Waddell led a group to the Republican mayor, Silas P. Wright. Waddell forced Wright, the board of aldermen, and the police chief to resign at gunpoint.[17] Waddel's group included future U.S. Congressman John D. Bellamy and future NC Assemblyman George Rountree.[2] The mob installed a new city council that elected Waddell to take over as mayor by 4 p.m. that day.[28]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilmington_massacre

1969-White supremacists bring bombs, guns and violence in response to school desegregation (only 15 years after Brown v Board), then they blamed the young black protestors, who would spend a decade in prison before release. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilmington_Ten

2016-Republican Governor signs bill reducing power of his predecessor. https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/12/16/505872501/north-carolina-governor-signs-law-limiting-power-of-his-successor

2023-Tricia Cotham-Ran on a progressive platform in very blue seat, changes parties because people were mean to her. https://www.wfae.org/2023-04-04/nc-house-democrat-to-switch-parties-creating-gop-supermajority

2024-Republican super-majority signs bill taking away power from incoming Democrat Governor, shifts other powers to its favor. https://www.npr.org/2024/12/12/g-s1-37837/north-carolina-gop-lawmakers-governor

[–] [email protected] 1 points 17 hours ago

Based on what you listed, it sounds like it's only NC conservatives that have a lackluster history with democracy.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Okay I like this answer. Where do I sign up for focused backlash?

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 day ago (7 children)

Calling your senators is one simple place to start

Indivisible has some listed if you want something more focused

Rage baiting for the inauguration hoping democrats will act like MAGA four years ago so he can declare martial law and be dictator forever and ever?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago

I mean, he just asked the Supreme Court to block his sentencing for all the felonies he was found guilty from.

He also is having his pet judge try to block the release of the reports on the other crimes he committed but wasn't prosecuted for.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 day ago

Conditioning us to expect it?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

He has stated many times, on video, that he wants to be dictator for a day to enact extreme policies. I recommend you read up on Project 2025 if you haven't already.

At the moment, I think he wants to distract from his legal battles, the infighting on H1B visas, and from what government agencies he is planning on gutting. He will likely try to completely change the scope of or destroy: the EPA, DOJ, IRS, and the department of education. The chaos now is just a little taste to get us ramped up.

I think he will be unable to fulfill his campaign promises of lowering inflation, especially if tariffs are enacted. He will be able to use distractions to explain why no progress is being made on that front (and/or by throwing Biden under the bus, which has already begun)

[–] [email protected] 30 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's not a stunt, it's total megalomania and you are falling for the coping tactic of pretending he's not serious in his literal statement to expand the borders of the US north and south.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 1 day ago (8 children)

None of this is new. Trump repeatedly brought up buying greenland during the first term when it was a suitable distraction from some other issue

Focus more on his actions, less on his words. If you focus only on his words you'll miss the bigger picture and miss what he really intends to do

According to right wingers, the renaming is necessary for "national security ".

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Yeah he doesn't want the world seeing that he is begging the SCOTUS to make rules not apply to not-yet-presidents and 34 felony convictions shouldn't count to gonna-be-in-charge-guy.
