I really don't care about either of these men, but they seem like they're having fun and nobody that matters seems to care that he wore a bald cap instead of shaving his head. In fact, it kinda seems like that's the joke...

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Guess he really is paranoid about his hair

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 hours ago

He's got a great head of hair. My wife thinks he's a bit of a nutter though, but in a good, nice way.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 15 hours ago

Look at his hairline. He's balding anyway so just gave it a try to see if he likes it. Made a PR campaign out of it, end of story

[–] [email protected] 101 points 1 day ago (9 children)

Being mad about this instead of Dave Coulier "dating" Alanis Morisette when he was in his 30s and she was 17 is like being mad at Obama about wearing a tan suit and not all the drone bombings or mass-deportations.

We're bad at picking what to be pissed about.

[–] [email protected] 35 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Well you say that, but this Stamos guy is a fucking asshole, why didn't he simply go rogue and shave his head and shutdown whatever production he is working on while his hair grows back, like those people working on it with him can take a few months without pay

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 hours ago

Having been forced to make a gesture at gun point a bald cap remained his only option

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This was my first thought. I bet his hair has it’s own contract and he couldn’t break it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 17 hours ago

I thought we all learned from Cavills cgi upper lips in the whedon JL cut that actors don't own their likeness during filming

It really did rain on my wedding day and I did not see the irony of the situation. We were inside so it really wasn't a problem.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 35 minutes ago

There was a blizzard on mine. No irony though, just bad weather.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 hours ago

It was forecasted to rain on my wedding day and my wife nearly died, so I bought seven purple umbrellas and one big white umbrella so they could take pictures in the rain. It didn't rain until after pictures. Is that irony?

What did Dave think of it? None of us matter if Dave actually appreciated the (albeit minimal, noncommittal) gesture

[–] [email protected] 9 points 7 hours ago

I would like to point out that actors are usually contractually obligated to maintain a specific appearance. Stamos may literally have not been able to shave his head in solidarity, so while seemingly noncommittal I think there could be more to the gesture. As you say, Dave is the only authority on the matter either way.

[–] [email protected] 72 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Yeah this is between them. Leave them alone or offer support. Negativity won't help anything

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago

If it was between them they wouldn't be posting it on social media

[–] [email protected] 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

don't put it on Twitter if you don't want people seeing it and possibly talking shit. it's not between them anymore. social media has fucked people's brains, main character syndrome.

Ok, I kinda get it. His looks are his living, without those he has nothing. But seeing as that is the case, he might have found another way to support his friend rather than an empty, performative stunt.

[–] [email protected] 38 points 1 day ago

rather than an empty, performative stunt.

looks to me both parties are enjoying themselves in the photo, doesn't look empty or performative at all. if Dave Coulier was cool with it, thats all that matters imo

[–] [email protected] 25 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Isn't shaving one's head an "empty performative stunt"? It doesn't provide any benefit to the cancer patient.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I don't think so if you're fond of your hair. Even if it grows back, it's a symbolic sacrifice in solidarity--a nice firm hug. A bald cap feels like a limp hug or a pat on the head.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 hours ago

Not that anyone should feel obligated to shave their head, but one major thing is that his hair is literally his livelihood. He may be under contract not to change his appearance, and shaving one's head (especially at that age) might do permanent damage.

I doubt that Dave would want John to shave his head. But they're good friends, and our opinion from the sidelines doesn't really matter that much.

I see nothing wrong with doing a gesture in support of a friend.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 day ago

I think what people see as wrong with it is these sorts of gestures are usually actually shaving your hair off in support. As a way of saying you're in this together and there to support the individual. This method comes off as disingenuous because you can just take the cap off and go back to your normal life, the other person can't.

Ultimately it's between them, but if you're going to publicize it. It comes off as shallow and an attempt at making yourself a part of someone else's illness

[–] [email protected] 40 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I wonder if they can cut it out.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 day ago

John checking his xitter replies like "oh mylanta 😩"

So what you’re supposed to cut your arm off to support a one armed friend?

Cut it out!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Well if it grew back like hair….

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

Right. I’m calling out the person in the screenshot who compared it to arms.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

Hehe, β€œcut it out”. Hehe.

A. Who gives a fuck if Stamos didn't actually shave his head.

B. Fuck Dave Coulier.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 hours ago

Wait, what did Dave Coulier do?

[–] tatterdemalion 14 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Coulier looks good bald. Stamos, not so much.

I think when you're probably shooting (as in filming) stuff you can't just shave your head in the middle of an ongoing project.

Otherwise I'd agree with the sentiment he should actually shave his hair but in this specific circumstance it doesn't feel disingenuous.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 day ago

This reminds me of that reddit story about a mom who was pissed and went off on a hair stylist who wouldn't shave his head for her daughter who had cancer

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I wish I looked as good bald as they do. I have a head as lumpy as an overripe orange.
