Hard day at work today. I'm seriously considering making golden syrup pudding for dinner.
I have received some chocolates π₯°
They look a bit fancy!
They taste amazing!
Front middle one looks like a Phoenix egg. Make an omelette.

I finished reading the Expanse last night. I've not been that engaged with a book series since I discovered Tom Clancy as a 12 year old who was obsessed with Navy aircraft. Don't really know what to read now.... I saw an interview with Henry Cavill where he was asked his go to sci fi writers. Without hesitation the first thing he said was anything by Robert E Feist.... So I guess I'll try that....
Edit. Decided on Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan.
God no. Not Feist. π
His women characters suck majorly. The only time he gets it right is The Empire Trilogy, and the only reason is because he collaborated with Janny Wurts (a woman).
If you do read his stuff, avoid Faerie Tale at all costs.
Major Spoiler for Faerie Tale and TW: Grape and SA
Pan raping a teenager is not something I was prepared for, Feist writes her so awfully. He doesn't know what a woman is.
Sorry for the rant. I think I just hate Feist. No one should stop you from enjoying a piece of art (novels in this case).
Tend to agree with all of that. I much prefer L E Modesitt Jr if I want stock characters with a predictable plotline. He's a much better wordsmith than Feist.
Oh.... Well. Some strong opinions. I'll strike Feist off the list then. ....scared to ask now... What about Brandon Sanderson?
Noted. And off my to read list.
Bah! I have to admit I am not a fan of Feist. I do however adore the Divine Lois. Check out anything by Lois McMaster Bujold. From rollicking space opera to deep psychological insight fantasy drama. Also very dry, deadpan funny. Good entry points - Memory, Diplomatic Immunity, The Curse of Chalion, Falling Free, The Sharing Knife - for a selection from her major universes. But she does perpetrate serieses, so enter at your own risk.
The Altered Carbon books are pretty good.
I'm always so tired when I have my week of late shifts. I can't change the time I wake up (or at least not so quickly) so I'm still up at the same time, but I don't get to sleep until two hours later than normalπ΄π΄π΄
I gave up afternoon shifts a long time ago for that very reason. If I'm going to stuff up my sleep cycle I'd rather do it good and proper and do night shift.
So I think we can all agree that constant population growth is bad for the environment.
And yet our economy hinges on it.
So....why are we still doing it? Same for constant economic growth in general.
At some point human society needs to reorganise around something other than the "economy".
The real problem imo is that the rich and shameless and/or powerful are stuck in an exploitative 19th century mindset, while the real world has moved on. Have you read Jared Diamond's masterful depiction in Collapse - How Societies Choose to Survive or Choose to Fail? I found that book mindblowing. Also Tim Flannery's The Future Eaters, which I regard as essential reading for anyone living in Australia rn. Some of the science is dated, but imo still valid in essence. And both authors are right on the money when it comes to how humans react to social stressors.
Ponzi scheme
So what's the etiquette about walking your green waste bin out then tipping all the water down the storm drain.....? It stinks!......asking for a friend obviously
Could pour it on someone's lawn. I'd tell your friend to wait until nightfall to avoid nosy neighbours lol, but otherwise it's a perfectly fine thing to do (pour it down the storm drain I mean).
Like even it really stinks on account of putting meat scraps in there before a hot day....?
So I found this. Amine me by a longago-ex's sister's boyfriend. Got that?
Can't claim sewing course is going well. Nobody is horrid, but I'm highly dubious my result will fit, and can really do without the graphic prego stories!
Opposite result of hoped for really.
Well let me tell you about my prego story.......
Nah I'm more interested in what you're learning there?

Goodbye old house and old life!!! Onto the transitory period before the next big thing... interestingly just yesterday I hear from my cousin in regional Vic that they're seriously considering moving (back) to WA...
E: I also wish to mention that my fingerprints aren't working so well on my phones. Must've been cleaning too hard lol.
Huge pot of chicken broth on the go. Probably last chance before weather makes this unfeasible, and I need dumplings.
I need some of that broth. Iβm feeling wiped and horrible at the moment.
Head feels like itβs been full of cotton all day.
π€€ that looks so delicious.
I made do with chicken and pasta and a cup of soup of cream of chicken.
Naaw. It'd telepath you a bowl if I could.
