'Traditional' here means 'Physical', as in artworks which are NON-DIGITAL in nature.

What's allowed: Acrylic, Pastel, Encaustic, Gouache, Oil and Watercolor Paintings; Ink Illustrations; Manga Panels; Pencil and Charcoal sketches; Collages; Etchings; Lithographs; Wood Prints; Pottery; Ceramics; Metal, Wire and paper sculptures; Tapestry; weaving; Qulting; Wood carvings, Armor Crafting and more.

What's not allowed: Digital art (anything made with Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, Krita, Blender, GIMP or other art programs) or AI art (anything made with Stable Diffusion, Midjourney or other models)

In searching for the history and context of this piece, I learned that the Internet is now a useless regurgitation machine.

Edit: this piece looks to me like a celebration of a saphoric "friendship" enabled by the knight in the background heading off to war.

Normally I look for a reference link to give some context about my random speculations. But I've found next to nothing at all on this Robert. Maybe Robert was an incredibly private individual.

Or Internet search just doesn't work anymore, like it used to.

Thanks. That's a little helpful. But it's nothing like the page I used to find, with some independent academic's rambling thoughts about the life and times (marriages, affairs, day job and scandalous might life) of Robert Engels. Maybe 'ol Robert is just completely forgettable. But I suspect it's more just that Internet search sucks now.
