If Helen Keller saw that she's be pissed.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I don't know. She might be slightly amused.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

Just slightly amused? Kind of a tame response to gaining the ability to see.

[–] [email protected] 28 points 7 months ago

The "Helen Keller punched me in the face once!" sticker seems to indicate that this is a joke.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 7 months ago (1 children)

One sticker says Helen Keller isn't real and the other one says Helen Keller punched him in the face.

So which is it

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago (1 children)

The punched one is satirical. Look at the font.

The rest is legit though.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago

The font strongly suggests that after being punched he got better.

This looks to be a joke but Helen Keller denialism isn't really new. People have speculated (almost certainly incorrectly) that Anne Sullivan, Helen's teacher/companion, was actually behind all of Helen's accomplishments and that Helen wasn't actually capable of communication at all for quite a while.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

Just plain old ableism. Keller was quite accomplished and they can't accept that someone with her disability was capable.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

Those people are not bright.

I was going to call them dumb, but.

Anyways, one of the reasons they chose Keller for this conspiracy is her role in founding the NAACP and in helping black women get access to contraception.

These bumper stickers are marketing for a podcast, I don't remember which. They are satire.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

That's good; It'd be a particularly weird hill to die on.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I almost want to know WTF is wrong with this person…

Almost

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago (2 children)

I really hope this is like “birds are not real” where the intent is that the joke is so over the top it’s obviously satire.

But we just can’t tell anymore because some people believe the absolutely most bonkers things.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

How dare you imply "birds are not real" is not real.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

It's not, she was a prominent figure in women's liberation, the path to the ADA, and the early civil rights movement, so they just lie about her. Most aren't this brand of crazy, assuming this example isn't satire, but it's a real thing.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 7 months ago (1 children)

This looks like a conspiracy a person takes up when all the rest are too overwhelming to commit to.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Or when all the major ones were taken, so you have to dig through the conspiracy bargain bin.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 7 months ago

The marked down to 1$ conspiracies

Good fucking Lord that is one hell of a fucking ugly car. It looks like a car fell down and sandwiched another one.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 7 months ago (4 children)

It has Fiat Multipla vibes, but on the back instead of the front.

Fiat Multipla

[–] [email protected] 7 points 7 months ago

The Fiat fupa

[–] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago

When you can't decide between a car and a park bench.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

Which was, with its 3 seats in width, probably still thinner than current cars.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago

That thing looks like the car from the last Family Vacation movie.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

Hey! I happen to own that car! It's not but that bad.. but you do have a point... thanks for putting words on how the back looks.. I also think the multipla seems like a reasonable car, and I can appreciate the design (that I assume is very functional)

Edit: I own a car LIKE that, not this specific one..

[–] [email protected] 7 points 7 months ago (1 children)

She's not real guys!

What if we campaigned for the rights of the disabled for NOTHING?? All that effort based on a LIE!!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

They've taken us for fools..

[–] [email protected] 7 points 7 months ago

This was the topic on an episode of the QAA podcast (who teased a rebrand coming next ep).

The fact that he has so many different stickers he must not be the only one

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

It’s not insane to think that her caretaker might have made it all up for money, but it is insane to make that your personality.

[–] DR_Hero 4 points 7 months ago

Barring Poe's Law and all

Would love to grab a beer with the owner of that car

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

This put a big smile on my mug, thanks.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

I'm going to tell myself this is some multi-layered take on the Clerks 2 Anne Frank/Helen Keller joke, taken too far. It's the only way it makes even a little sense to me.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

Which is it? Hellen Keller isn't real, or she is real and punched them in the face?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

Yeah, blind people have been coasting on this grift for too long. All blind people are fake!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Oh my god it makes so much sense, I get it now!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

Joe Biden and the liberal elites coordinated this mass disinformation campaign using Helen Keller to distract the people from their child blood harvesting operation underneath the White House.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

What the fuuuck?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

Someone needs to put this nut in the Kona Silence by themself.
