My brain does this shit anyway...

Been playing the Helldivers attack music nonstop for 3 days.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Always something playing. Sometimes I can control it. Sometimes you just gotta submit. Sometimes you gotta play loud music to hear something else. Which leads me to realize if it ever does get quiet, I have ruined my hearing with tinnitus.

Always something playing

Tinnitus means never experiencing silence again.

That was such a depressing realization when I first had it... If there is an afterlife, the one thing that might make me happier than seeing my lost loved ones may be not having to hear "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" behind the themes from various TV shows and video games playing constantly in my head.

Protect your ears kids. Tinnitus doesn't just go away. That concert you're going to? Totally going to fuck up your hearing permanently, whether you think so or not. No, we're not just being old. We know from experience. That shit's louder than you think. Enjoy responsibly.

Very true. You'll hear the concert with good earplugs better than without.

Hah yes that lovely ringing sound that means I'm not listening to loud enough music! I try not to think about how bad it will likely get in another decade or two

ADHD has turned my brain into a permanent jukebox that never, EVER stops. Never a single moment of silence in my brain, except for A Moment Of Silence.

For some it helps doing sums in their head. The brain can run either the calculator or the music app. Not both at the same time.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

Same. If it gets bored it starts playing tunes. Mostly jingles from commercials and childrens songs.

That is not a hack but an upgrade

[–] [email protected] 19 points 6 months ago (1 children)

They ought to just make it a feature ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

It should be activated via your vision input somehow, that is just when you’re at your safest, most private moments it goes off…

[–] [email protected] 19 points 6 months ago

This is by far the best case scenario (the device being hackable and potentially yours to program, to use it like you own it and your brain/thoughts).

The default scenario is still much like the image above, but those are non-stop ads.

Schizophrenia with extra steps

Assuming that you survive long enough.

Ransomware of the future - endless nerve pain until you pay up fucko.

Intense burning and stabbing from every single nerve at the press of a key.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 6 months ago

Could be much worse. Do kids these days still trick each other into seeing tubgirl or goatse?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 months ago (1 children)

First hack of nuera-link, calling it now. Then followed with lagged O’Riely auto parts theme song.
